Literally the first rule of handling firecrackers is to not lit them in the hand until you 101% sure that you will have enough time to throw it away. And still it mostly applies to small ones.
So better to light them on the ground and quickly move you hand away, since even 4 inches of distance is much better than having point blank explosion right near your hand in case of firecracker malfunctioning.

The only value of Reddit for now is as a huge archive of data useful in one or another way. And since to browse most of it you don’t even need an account, there is no need to bother yourself with creating one.
