- Comment on Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash 6 days ago:
Yeah the AI is lacking the ones its scummy creators claim it has.

Good joke.
- Comment on If a US bank only insures your money up to 250k does that mean I have to visit four different back to have a million dollars insured? 1 week ago:
They’re not keeping a million sitting around in cash. Investment accounts have a separate insurance program

If the tool can’t be consistent in it’s output, it’s not a reliable or worthwhile tool to use.
There is such a thing as a bad tool.
- Comment on Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash 1 week ago:
Yeah people making that argument were dumb. Copyright needs to be fixed, not abolished.
- Comment on Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash 1 week ago:
Yeah, now we’re in the iron age!
…Where we get to bang two ingots together

“it’s your fault that it just made up tools that don’t exist” is a bold statement, bro.
- Comment on Sony is testing dynamic pricing: one game - different prices on the PlayStation Store 2 weeks ago:
Yes.
But that wasn’t the reasoning that was given.
I don’t buy from A because I prefer B… Is not a boycott.
- Comment on Sony is testing dynamic pricing: one game - different prices on the PlayStation Store 2 weeks ago:
Preferring a different option is not a boycott of the one
- Comment on (serious) What would we be losing in a world where most people didn't own a car? Please read the OP before posting. 2 weeks ago:
People aren’t missing this, they’re noting the very real issue of most people being fucked for a couple of decades while we wait on that infrastructure to be built up.
- Comment on How come in American classrooms they make another language an elective. Why not teach our kids as many languages possible that way if we go somewhere we will kind of have uper hand? 3 weeks ago:
We needed ~“3” levels of language classes to graduate in my school (7th and 8th grade effectively counted as 1 level, so it was really 4 years). You could elect to take extra if you wanted.
- Comment on Russell Brand latest: Comedian pleads not guilty to new charges 3 weeks ago:
I never understood his appeal. He’s just vulgar. It’s not funny. His assurance in a couple otherwise good movies really ruins it.
- Comment on Xbox CEO Asha Sharma shares her gamertag — what it reveals 3 weeks ago:
Yeah? And how have those reports and metrics been fairing the last generation and a half? Running a creative medium based on metrics is why AAA is in the shitter. How many studio closings are we seeing lately?

Knowing your product is part of business…

He did get his start in education. Given a job he was unqualified for by [traitorous] former AG Bill Barr’s father (who also wrote creepy pedo sci fi novels)
- Comment on Highguard Developer Makes Layoffs Affecting "Most of the Team", Two Weeks After Launch 5 weeks ago:
It’s a really shitty way to run a business. If the game industry was set up more similar to movies, you could make this argument. But it’s not.
Game devs desperately need to unionize. Across the board
- Comment on Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam? 1 month ago:
For brick and mortar, which has significantly more costs to make up than digital. Which is the entire point of this suit. And steam’s policy requires that no game can be regularly priced cheaper than on their platform - artificially raising prices across the board.
It’s bizarre seeing everyone here defend steam here just because they don’t like who’s saying it.

- Comment on Meta progression in roguelites was fun for a while, but it's starting to feel unrewarding 1 month ago:
I don’t like the ones that are meant to be replayed over and over to progress at all.
I like the ones that are a whole new experience each time. I’m not even sure if these are truly rogue likes, but they get lumped into them

But then you have to flip from the left hand rule to the right hand rule!

- Comment on Would the United States actually risk a Tiananmen Square incident? 1 month ago:
Certainly complete disarmament of ICE. Their job is investigation misdemeanors. There’s fuck all reason for them to be armed at all.
You don’t need a gun to investigate paperwork issues.

I thought that was only for single digit numbers. Or is that a more recent convention?
- Comment on It always makes news when the "Doomsday Clock" is moved by a second or minute. What would actually happen if it got to 00:00 1 month ago:
We’d already be in ww3. It’s an indicator, not a mechanism that does anything on its own.

- Comment on The college-to-office path is dead: CEO of the world’s biggest recruiter says Gen Z grads need to consider trade and hospitality jobs that don’t even require degrees 2 months ago:
We’ve seen robots struggling to handle picking up boxes for like a decade now. They’re still struggling with that. Tight spaced delicate movements isn’t in the near future, yet.
Transportation is going to be the first industry majorly replaced by automation, not the trades.
- Comment on The college-to-office path is dead: CEO of the world’s biggest recruiter says Gen Z grads need to consider trade and hospitality jobs that don’t even require degrees 2 months ago:
The one near me isn’t set up like a line of stools at a bar. It’s a ton of tables all over the place with some arcade/bar games strewn around. In a college area so fills up pretty easily at night
