They need to finish TES VI before they start on the next fallout. And the “announcement” trailer for that was like 6 years ago

- Comment on The college-to-office path is dead: CEO of the world’s biggest recruiter says Gen Z grads need to consider trade and hospitality jobs that don’t even require degrees 1 week ago:
We’ve seen robots struggling to handle picking up boxes for like a decade now. They’re still struggling with that. Tight spaced delicate movements isn’t in the near future, yet.
Transportation is going to be the first industry majorly replaced by automation, not the trades.

The one near me isn’t set up like a line of stools at a bar. It’s a ton of tables all over the place with some arcade/bar games strewn around. In a college area so fills up pretty easily at night
- Comment on Ubisoft Closes Canadian Studio After It Unionizes 1 week ago:
Everyone wants to work in games. Few want to work on accounting software and client messaging organization programs. Who do you think gets paid more despite doing basically the same thing?
- Comment on Ubisoft Closes Canadian Studio After It Unionizes 1 week ago:
highly paid developers
You’re not familiar with the games industry are you?
Their wages are significantly lower than related software fields of similar skill sets.

- Comment on Sony's Naughty Dog Studio Orders Employee Overtime on ‘Intergalactic’ 4 weeks ago:
For short periods, like a few days, you can get a small boost in productivity. But if it goes on too long, you actually see a decrease in productivity overall.
And most companies aren’t paying for this, as lobbyists managed to get “computer workers” onto the list of allowed overtime exempt employees.

- Comment on Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage 4 weeks ago:
A can many using hand tools is producing less, and would require more people to have the same output as a company using power tools …
- Comment on Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage 4 weeks ago:
I’m not avoiding the spirit at all. I’m pointing out the ridiculousness of the no-AI-at-all brigrade slapping the AI label on a game that “uses AI during it’s development even if it’s not in the end product”, because it would absolutely count this exact scenario.
- Comment on Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage 4 weeks ago:
Bad analogy. Communication is part of team development. If you’re pitching ideas, redefining requirements or requesting additional assets, you’re developing the game…
- Comment on Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage 4 weeks ago:
If you’re sending emails related to the development of the game you’re developing to other people developing that same game, you’re NOT developing the game? What kind of bullshit mental gymnastics is this?
- Comment on Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder [TWIV] 4 weeks ago:
I mean, I can understand the desire to cobble together the ideas you have instead of saying you want certain pieces of 18 different reference photos, but with the vibe of a few others…
Like: I want something like this, but more cohesive.

Yeah I dunno if a year is enough to connect this singular dot.
1869 is also the year the US intercontinental resolution was completed, which would seem to be a much bigger connection to an element allowing travel than the guy who made the periodic table.
- Comment on Larian CEO Responds to Divinity Gen AI Backlash: 'We Are Neither Releasing a Game With Any AI Components, Nor Are We Looking at Trimming Down Teams to Replace Them With AI' 5 weeks ago:
Yeah, do you use any Microsoft products at all (like 98% of corporate software development does)? Everything from teams to word to visual studio has copilot sitting there. It would just take one employee asking it a question to render a no-AI pledge a lie.
- Comment on Larian CEO Responds to Divinity Gen AI Backlash: 'We Are Neither Releasing a Game With Any AI Components, Nor Are We Looking at Trimming Down Teams to Replace Them With AI' 5 weeks ago:
No one [intelligent] is using an LLm for workflow organization. Despite what the media will try to convince you, Not every AI is an LLM or even and LLM trained on all the copyrighted shit you can find in the Internet.

- Comment on Anon lives on a budget 5 weeks ago:
No one said otherwise. The ACA bill lowered the amount of hours that qualified as full time, which lead to the shittier employers cutting hours again.
- Comment on Anon lives on a budget 5 weeks ago:
Employers definitely used it as an excuse to cut a lot of people’s hours. It was a big deal at the time

The AI investment craze wasn’t going on the whole time even LLMs have been around. There will be people calling out doomsday financial scenarios every day for years that never happen.
Some have been proclaiming daily we’re overdue for another recession ever since we hit the bottom of the 2008 one. Hasn’t happened yet, 17 years later.
