Do you think that songs are recorded with all of the artists crammed in a room with a couple of mics placed around the room which is then recorded immediately to file? Cause that is not how it (in pretty much most cases) works.
You record the artist separately and than layer the tracks. Hell, most of the time even that isn’t done in a single take. You do multiple takes and splice the best parts together.
And a recording room does not have a characteristic sound shape. They are made to reflect as little sound from the walls as possible so you get the most pure version of the instrument. That’s the whole point. If you want something like reverb you add it either in the signal chain during playing or later in the production. Unless the instrument is recorded in a specific room with specific mics placed about for that rooms specific sound, if you hear any sort of room characteristics that is most likely a mistake.
The only case I can think of where you can hear the things you are talking about is when you are recording a live show/album. But even then you will need post processing for a proper “soundstage”, aka being able to hear the position of the different musicians. A single mic does not record position. You have to pan them left or right after the recording to get them left or right in the soundstage. You can do the exact same thing with electronic music.
And as I’ve said elsewhere in this thread, using autotune does not automatically make you a bad singer. If you can hear the autotune, that’s on purpose. If you can’t hear any autotune, there is a good chance that’s it’s still being used. The whole point of autotune is that you don’t hear it when used as intended.

That’s sick, thanks for sharing!

Almost true. The “autotune effect” only appears if you dial the knobs all the way up when setting up the effect. But you are correct that properly used autotune is pretty much not noticeable.
Using autotune also does not automatically make you a bad singer. T-Pain is very known for the autotune effect he useson his vocals, but he is an amazing singer even without using it.

- Comment on Why are podcasters/vloggers suddenly holding tiny mics? 4 weeks ago:
YouTubers didn’t mind the blocky look as it let them get great quantity sound in not ideal locations, without messing with traditional lapel mics(boxy clips, cables and tape).
Except most of the youtubers holding mics are doing that exact thing - except, instead of actually clipping the lavalier mics to their shirt they hold them up by the clip. Which is extremely dumb when you think about it.
- Comment on Why are podcasters/vloggers suddenly holding tiny mics? 4 weeks ago:
But they are completely nondescript tho, unless they actually name the brand you’ll have to know the mic from sight alone. Which is easy when it’s a shure SM58 or SM7B, but when it’s a tiny lavalier mic that’s pretty difficult.

You can train that, actually. Part of a higher education in music is learning solfege, which is the ability to recognize intervals and chords combined with the ability to be able to (somewhat) sing them.
One of my favorite youtube videos about music is one about solfege. I’ll go and find it and edit it into this comment.

God i hate that one. Takes all the emersion out of a scene. I don’t really mind it in a comedy or something but when it’s in a serious movie I really don’t get why you would include it.

Letting it sit unoccupied? How about not hoarding basic necessities and at the very least sell it instead of letting it “sit unoccupied” because he can’t make a quick buck over the backs of the working class?

My airpods only recently started working properly again, I probably dropped them too many times. The left bud wouldn’t charge without me holding it in a specific position, and at some point even that stopped working. After a while they (somewhat) started working as normal again tho.

They targeted memers.
Memers.
We’re a group of people who will sit for hours, days, even weeks on end performing some of the hardest, most mentally demanding tasks. Over, and over, and over all for nothing more than a little digital upvote saying we did.
We’ll punish our selfs doing things others would consider torture, because we think it’s fun.
We’ll spend most if not all of our free time min maxing the circulation of a fresh image macro all to draw out a single extra point of karma per second.
Many of us have made careers out of doing just these things: slogging through the grind, all day, the same captions over and over, hundreds of times to the point where we know evety little detail such that some have attained such memer nirvana that they can literally post these memes blindfolded.
Do these people have any idea how many screens have been smashed, systems over heated, memefolios destroyed 8n frustration? All to latter be referred to as bragging rights?
These people honestly think this is a battle they can win? They take our media? We’re already building a new one without them. They take our meme designers? Memers aren’t shy about throwing their money else where, or even making the memes our selves. They think calling us racist, mysoginistic, rape apologists is going to change us? We’ve been called worse things by prepubescent 10 year olds on 9gag. They picked a fight against a group that’s already grown desensitized to their strategies and methods. Who enjoy the battle of attrition they’ve threatened us with. Who take it as a challange when they tell us we no longer matter. Our obsession with proving we can after being told we can’t is so deeply ingrained from years of dealing with big brothers/sisters and friends laughing at how pathetic we used to be that proving you people wrong has become a very real need; a honed reflex. Memers are competative, hard core, by nature. We love a challange. The worst thing you did in all of this was to challange us. You’re not special, you’re not original, you’re not the first; this is just another imgur struggle.

It’s the artstyle that gives it away for me. I sympathize with actual artists who have this art style cause I will forever think of their art as AI slop
