I was genuinely surprised playing it to find it was actually good. And that most of the loudest complaints just weren’t true.

I really enjoy Fallout 4. It’s got problems but I think Bethesda did a good job taking the honestly kinda bad Fallout 3 and turning it into a far better Bethesda open world.
Fallout 3 is too tied to the Fallout IP in ways that are detrimental. They keep a lot of the Fallout style RPG elements but… Do so in a way that is really bad as a fallout rpg and doesn’t make for an interesting Bethesda open world. So it ends up being kinda just bad.
Fallout 4 takes the game in its own direction and really improves on the gameplay itself. Exploring, looting, crafting, and building, all work really well together and make a just really fun game to play around in.
Most of its flaws come from once again, being too tied to the fallout IP. Significantly less so than 3 though. Also I don’t mean that if they just renamed it, it’d be better. If it wasn’t a fallout game, and wasn’t trying to keep a lot of the design and baggage that series has, it probably could’ve been far better.

It’s far from my favorite game, but I really really enjoyed the new saint’s row. My only real issue with it was it was so buggy that when my SO and I played together, every session had at least two points where it either crashed outright, or broke in such a way we had to both relaunch the game.
And this is coming from someone who loves saints row 2.

I say this after buying various straightforward remakes, but I think switching things up gives it more justification for existing. The original still exists. Why not use it as a base and change things up?

Breakfast foods here in the USA can be pretty greasy from my experience. Breakfast sausage, bacon. Even eggs depending on how you cook them. Probably more too I can’t think of off the top of my head.
- Comment on Google's Gemini will make its way into Dragon Quest X to power a "Chatty Slimey" AI companion, Square Enix has announced 2 months ago:
Yeah but that sounds awful. Why would I want randomly generated clues? Not to mention how could I trust that it’s not hallucinating?
Like, it doesn’t even sound like a good idea.

A detective game with LLM NPCs sounds like a terrible use? It’s ultimately a kind of puzzle game but the actual information you need to gather is randomly generated. Surely it’s better to have all relevant dialogue written with intent.
- Comment on RuneScape's monthly membership now costs as much as a World of Warcraft subscription as Jagex announces its second price hike in less than 2 years 2 months ago:
Recent expansions added some account wide progression. Rep is now account wide namely, along with the new delve season progression. There may be more, especially with the new expansion, but that’s what’s off the top of my head.

Runescape is kinda fun but it’s not worth nearly that much for a single character.
- Comment on I am an American. I used to be proud of my country. Now it feels like a turd circling the drain. Is there anything going on behind the scene that America is actually doing good in? 2 months ago:
America always was shit. You only felt proud out of, at best, ignorance.
This is a country that was built on slavery, racism, and genocide. None of that changed, it only changed forms.

- Comment on What should the next President of the United States do? 5 months ago:
Abuse power in the same way trump is, ignore laws, and do so with the effort to actually make the country decent.
That will never happen though. Instead if we get a dem president (which I doubt there’s going to even be a fair election) it’ll be right back to the crap they always do. No progress, and by the next republican president we’d definitely be a full dictatorship. But we’re already at that point so this is just pointless hypotheticals. It’s going to be a long and dark decade for the US and I doubt it’s going to survive as a single country by 2035.

Steam awards are pretty much always like this. Popularity over the actual category itself.

- Comment on Is gold investing a scam? 6 months ago:
It’s… Not really a scam so much as a thing for weird cranks who think the apocalypse is coming. If you have gold then you have gold. And gold will likely hold its value for a long time because it’s a rare resource. Unless we find some alchemy that turns common materials into it, it will likely stay that way. So if you buy gold at market value then you can always sell it later at market value, and that market value is almost guaranteed to be higher than when you bought it.
The people who are really into it though are the weird cranks. And I’d imagine certain stocks or even bonds are arguably better returns in the same time span.

Do what you find morally best in that situation. Loyalty to a nation is honestly stupid to begin with. Use your brain and think. And if that means staying out of it, then stay out of it.
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 7 months ago:
I don’t know if it’ll be VR but the short version is there’s a lot of code in the source 2 updates that directly point to the development of a new half-life game.
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 7 months ago:
With the fact there’s apparently surprisingly reasonable evidence of a new half life game, I wonder if that’s likely to get announced when they give these a release date. I could see them bundling it with the steam machines at least. Assuming the rumors turn out to be true.

Honestly nothing makes me feel more disconnected with the general gaming populace than the sheer popularity of extraction shooters. Every single one of them looks and sounds unfun. Also they tend to look incredibly generic.
But they’re popular so what do I know.
