- Comment on Why is the first thing the internet says whenever a relationship post comes up is: "Red Flag"/"Break Up"/"Divorce"/"Don't Walk, Run"/"Go No-Contact"/"Let them die in a nursing home"/etc... 6 days ago:
How much of your life do you want to spend around people who make you unhappy? Generally, you can’t change other people, so if you’re unhappy enough to be posting about your relationship online for random people to comment on, you should at least consider cutting your losses and freeing yourself to find relationships that you actively enjoy being part of.

Some financial institutions are much worse than others. I think it depends on what system they’re using for fraud detection.

If I have to use ID.me for something, I just don’t do it.

Same here. So many websites are now virtually unusable. It doesn’t seem to happen with Chinese sites, though.
- Comment on How do you feel about a 25 year old dating a 46 year old? 1 week ago:
When I was in my 20s, I viewed people in their 40s-50s as parental or even grandparently figures. As an older person, I would be open to dating someone in their 20s if we had a great connection, but I wouldn’t make a move unless they expressed an interest first because I wouldn’t want to be creepy or make them uncomfortable.
- Comment on Is cryptocurrency good for anything? 2 weeks ago:
It’s good for buying things online when your bank has an overly strict fraud detection system that blocks legitimate purchases because the seller is in a different country or whatever.
- Comment on What's the weirdest argument you've gotten into with someone? 3 weeks ago:
My mother, who has had three kids, believes that women pee out of their vaginas. She realizes that pee comes out the urethra, but insists that a woman’s urethra is inside the vagina. She was extremely condescending to me when I tried to explain that’s not how it works, so I just gave up.

I can smell worms, period, but I don’t think it’s gross.

Stinkbugs only smell bad if you scare them. They never smell bad to me, either, but I also try not to scare insects.

Ants definitely produce sound when they walk. And why wouldn’t they?

I used to work at an office where all of our documents were kept electronically. A few of my coworkers couldn’t figure out how to open any file type except pdf, so whenever I added documents to the system, I’d convert anything else and add a pdf copy for them.
Another group of coworkers was infuriated by this, because they believed I was spending hours every day scanning a ton of paper documents unnecessarily, because I guess they didn’t know any other way to create a pdf?
I ended up being called into a meeting with my manager to justify why I was wasting so much time scanning documents. I explained that I wasn’t scanning anything, I was just opening files that we received in an electronic format and clicking “export to pdf”.
He was blamed me for none of the people who complained knowing how to do this. We were all administrative staff.
- Comment on How to stay sane in a hostile environment that you can't get out of? 2 months ago:
It’s scary at first to do everything for yourself, but it becomes less scary over time, as you get used to it. Stay focused on your goal of one day not needing them anymore, and don’t give up.
- Comment on Oh nuts! 2 months ago:
I love watching the squirrels at my feeder, especially the young ones still learning to find food. I buy a mix that has corn and nuts in it just for them.

There are lots of interesting manuals available on the internet.
- Comment on I have seen a lot of movies where the Catholic School Nuns smack a students hand for being disruptive or something is this a trope or a real something? Like most notable in Blues Brothers 2 months ago:
My principal had that, too! He kept it hanging on the wall in his office, and students could see it when we walked by. It scared me, but I never saw or heard of him using it on anyone.
- Comment on Sincere question: why play long video games? 2 months ago:
If you’re playing a game and enjoying it and it’s long, you get to enjoy it for longer than if it was short.
- Comment on How do I feel comfortable/safe going outside by myself after being so used to have parent(s) be with me outside most of my life? 2 months ago:
You just have to work up to it, little by little. Getting a job, hobby, or volunteer work that takes you to lots of different places can help.

I’ve heard it’s good for your skin, too. Supposedly, pregnant women’s urine is the best.

Not sure about shrews, but some animals hide their feces because the scent can let predators know where they are.

- Comment on Google AI summaries are ruining the livelihoods of recipe writers: ‘It’s an extinction event’ 3 months ago:
I agree. Once you know how to prepare an ingredient or use a specific technique, you really don’t need to read a description of it over and over again. I don’t really understand the popularity of recipes.

- Comment on Are you a market or supermarket enthusiast? 3 months ago:
Local supermarkets, local brands. I would like to buy more directly from the source, though.
