- Comment on What would you do if your gym trainer is 5 minutes late? 1 week ago:
Sounds like my hairstylist. I’m always her first client of the day, and I always end up sitting outside and waiting for her to get there. I get it, going to work sucks. She’s good and I like the location, so I don’t complain.

Mine had it until my mom’s generation. She seemed to take pleasure in telling me she was going to throw it out unless I took it while I was living in a place where I couldn’t.
- Comment on It would get old fast 1 week ago:
My aunt and her family lived in a place like this. It was such a weird vibe. We never walked or rode our bikes anywhere, we just played in the yard.

I didn’t even notice, but that’s so weird. Buy a house like that and park your car out front?

It helps in situations like you’re trying to use a p2p program and your ISP uses a NAT.

Love it when a page loads, and it’s just a white blank. Like, you didn’t even try. Do I want to turn JS on or close the tab? Usually, I just close the tab and move on. Nothing I need to see here.

It sounds like your mom went through a lot. I believe that my mother’s issues are also the result of family abuse. (2 of her 3 sisters have the same behaviors.) I feel sorry for her, but she’s still a bad person. She lives in the same town as my brother and his family, right next to her grandkids’ school, so she definitely does not need me to move in with her.

You can use your own computer with a reasonably-sized model, and set it to whatever you want.

My bf has already decided he wants one of these because of the xbox branding. :(

I suspect my mom has BPD or a similar condition because of similar behavior. She lied about me constantly, stole from me, randomly flew into intense rages which sometimes included physical attacks, and tried to sabotage everything I did. Now that she’s elderly, she wants my bf to change jobs so we can move to her state and live with her. 🙄

Thankfully, I can’t imagine my town wanting to pay for this. They don’t even want to pay for parks or a library.

Blasting down the road might save you about 3 minutes on an hour and a half trip, as best I can tell. It doesn’t seem worth the stress or the danger of causing an accident or getting pulled over.
- Comment on A game you "didn't know it was bad 'til people told you so"? 1 month ago:
IMO, I would rate them: ME1 Andromeda ME2 ME3
The original Mass Effect was great, a classic, but 2 and 3 had less and less of what I’d loved about the first game. By the time I got to 3, I was playing because I felt invested in the story and characters, not because I found the gameplay enjoyable. Andromeda wasn’t quite as enjoyable as ME1 to me, mostly because I didn’t connect with the characters as much, but the story was surprising and original, fights were exciting, and the gameplay had a lot of interesting new elements that made the scenario feel immersive. It’s really too bad that so many people didn’t like it.

The beginning of the game is really bleak, but it makes the scenario of trying to colonize a lifeless planet feel all the more real IMO. After you meet aliens and start terraforming planets, it starts to be more what people wanted out of it, I think.

No reason why the forks can’t continue their own independent development. If they do disappear, I guess I’ll use a webkit-based browser, or maybe a Gemini browser that also does http.

I just chill when I drive. If there’s a speed minimum, I obey it, but otherwise I’m just out there to relax and have a good time. I don’t even look at people’s faces when they pass. I’m not doing anything wrong. If they’re mad, they need to get over it. (My bf hates driving with me.)

I really enjoyed Mass Effect: Andromeda.
- Comment on What are some good places/activities where a middle-aged man can new make friends? 1 month ago:
If you like animals, there’s lots to do with animal rescue, and you meet lots of great people. There are ways to contribute even if you don’t have a lot of physical mobility, like helping with internet activities, record-keeping, photography, and caring for animals temporarily while they’re being quarantined.
