Hakuna matata :) no need to get riled up. Use what you want, I use Linux and macOS at home and windows at work.

Fair point! In the end, everyone needs to use what works best for them. I do concede that I’m not really familiar with accessibility issues and I perceive the accessibility options to be lacking in the distros I know. Maybe it will change in the future and I hope it does :) thank you for your contribution!

Oh, I get that, it was more of a retro rival question because I read all those headlines about the shit Microsoft constantly tries to pull. I get comfortable and I’m sure there are some problems and growing pains but if you’re ready to get out of the comfort zone I think it is worth it.
I had the opposite issue where canon decided to stop supporting a scanner with incompatible drivers for windows 10. Linux and macOS were able to use it OOTB without me having to tinker with it. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
I’m not a lemming and am not shoving anything down anyone’s throat, but I guess people are apparently really triggered when someone merely brings it up.

Oh I also use windows on my work machine and not anywhere else. The enterprise version is not full of crap and doesn’t force AI down your throat.

I mean at this point why stick with Microsoft? I get needing a particular software only able to run in windows but other than that there’s really no need.

My driving school had 2002 Corollas. Had a lot of problems to get the „feel“ for the clutch and after I mastered that the most challenging thing for me was starting on a hill using the handbrake. Auto-Hold these days is truly a blessing :)

As someone with small kids, this would be my preferred way of working. Even with a dedicated room I can’t help myself losing focus and entering magic adventures with unicorns and building equipment.

Not to mention any part of the factory automation technology. Capacitors on the circuit board are made in Japan if they’re decent, motor windings from China, solenoids , the lot.

Thank you for sharing! It really looks great! The deal breaker for me is the lack of a self hosted IDE option. Right now I use overleaf in a docker container and as far as I understood their web editor is proprietary. I’ll check it out in the future for sure!
- Comment on I 🖤 LaTeX 4 months ago:
I do love LaTeX. Wrote every thesis and paper with it. Using bibtex was a lifesaver as I didn’t have to care for citations and references. Not caring about numbering, footnotes or annotations and having them automatically is amazing. Also structuring the thesis or paper into multiple separate files that work with version control has web a game changer for me
- Comment on I'll just take the bus 5 months ago:
I like automatics but I have driven manuals all my life and I prefer them especially in the winter when encountering icy roads. And I like overtaking with manuals more because I have control over the rev range and torque. If I were to live in a mild climate with lots of wide multi lane roads I’d get an auto for sure.
