- Comment on Has the use of a comma instead of the word "and" in English news headlines always been a thing? 6 days ago:
It’s a thing that comes from the era of printed newspapers. Every word took up valuable space and cost a lot of ink when printed on millions of papers.

Yeah, lgbt being a fandom sounds super phobic. Just looked up gynesexual on a search engine and copied the first link that had a definition.

- Comment on Can you read and understand this passage? 1 week ago:
I would argue that passages like this (Monte cristo) train you to understand OP’s slob: “I was then almost assured that the inheritance had neither profited the Borgias nor the family, but had remained unpossessed like the treasures of the Arabian Nights, which slept in the bosom of the earth under the eyes of the genie.”
Also, Oliver twist is by the same author.
- Comment on Can you read and understand this passage? 1 week ago:
Yes, but I spent a lot of my childhood reading things like Sherlock Holmes, Jules Verne, count of Monte cristo, Oliver twist, etc.

Having any skin other than what you have is how you experience racism in America.

In my experience, the urge only begins once you’ve completed the entire openworld and run out of content other than the endgame dungeons (spiral abyss, imaginarium theater). You have a long way to go before that point.
- Comment on 'Oh god': There's a buried Steam help page that shows how much money you've ever spent on the platform, and you may not want to know 5 weeks ago:
6 years with just over $300 with 80% played. I was expecting worse after seeing the 5 figure numbers in the comments.

I just went through this and passed the test. udemy.com/…/aws-certified-cloud-practitioner-new/….
I got access to it for free though. Don’t know if the cost is worth it compared to other resources if it isn’t free for you.

Reddit does ban if a new account immediately after signing up tries to post any post, especially if this is all being done from a VPN and using browser instead of app.

I don’t see how a gaming only pc has $3800 of non-gpu costs. There has to be a threadripper equivalent cpu and/or a shit ton of storage/ram on there.

- Comment on What administrative powers exist among workspaces in the software industry and why? 4 months ago:
I work in software at a large corpo and I don’t normally have access to install anything that doesn’t come from the company’s internal repository of third party apps.
But there is a pre installed app on my laptop that i can use to get temporary admin access for my laptop in a few seconds. But while the temporary admin access is on, everything I do gets logged for accountability. I’ve used this temp admin before for setting some environment variables.
Most things I work on happen in a big cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and the role I have access to on our cloud provider account has very limited privileges (esp in prod). Adding a new privilege to the role needs to go through two rounds of peer review + one round of managed review.
