As someone who used to be an Assistant Manager at Blockbuster…keep that thing dead and gone. Like as a consumer, sure I get it, but working there absolutely sucked. No one remembers the late fees or the fact Blockbuster would send you to collections for ONE late fee (like a whole $3.25) and then send you those bullshit cards in the mail letting you know that you owe them less than $5? yeah I remember cause on a near daily basis I’d get someone in the store yelling at me that they’re trying to get a loan or a house and this little card is fucking it all up for them. MOST of the time the late fee was because the absolutely ancient computer system we used that they never updated…at all…since the 80s…would skip barcodes randomly on scans. That or some vengeful employee at another store would just manually add fees to someones account (yes that was possible, yes we could just add fees to random accounts willy nilly)
also my District Manager was a douchenozzle. Mike, rot in hell.

why wait? I was hoping you americans would have acted by now but…psh I’m not holding my breathe anymore. almost any other country would be rioting, violently, right now but you guys have zero leaders to rally anything. and any thing close to an opposition leader you have is saying “just wait for the midterms!” yeah…ok buddy either you’ll be lucky if your dear leader allows midterms to happen OR they do, dems win across the board, but most of this shit goes into effect AFTER said midterms thus the nazi’s blame the dems for everything and ensure glorious leader wins a 3rd term.
shit I’ll be surprised if most of you guys are still working, eating, not in a camp, or hell even alive by that point.

a dumb population is easier to control than an educated one. They don’t plan on reducing the number of children, no they need more to produce for the wealthy. What they need are dumb kids that will grow into dumb adults. uneducated adults are more likely to have A LOT of kids. So you strip education, you strip healthcare, you make abortions illegal across the board, thus you force the population to keep pumping out new workers. many will die, the strong idiots will survive.
They’re turning the country into cattle.
- Comment on Mullvad's ads are good 1 week ago:
Mullvad is great, only VPN i’ll ever use. I’m just a random number to them. no emails, no names, nothing. Hell I can even just pay them in cash if I wanted. Their service has improved too. on some wifi networks it would take me a couple minutes to connect but now it’s instant. Soon as I boot into my WM just “mullvad connect” in the terminal and I’m good to go.

They never try to lure me into buying more/bigger/better like pretty much every company does now.
Windscribe enters the chat.
Biggest mistake I ever made was signing up for them. just the constant daily emails trying to be “funny” to get me to return.

What’s funny about this whole thing is it’s almost like PirateSoftwares days in EVE Online when he invited everyone to Pochven space cause he thought he was hot shit and then proceeded to get his ass handed to him and he rage quit the game. He brought attention to something that ended up having the opposite effect of what he wanted.
Granted he was absolutely shit at EVE regardless of what he’s told his audience. couldn’t fit a ship to save his life, ran for CSM and no one voted for him, then rage quit when everyone and even his own corp proceeded to kick his teeth in.

working where exactly? working on a farm that will pay you minimum wage, if that? oh OH I know working in the tech sector where it’s now and has been for the past couple years an absolute nightmare to find a job in.
There are NO jobs out there that will pay for the current cost of living and the ones that COULD aren’t hiring, and if anything, are laying people off. And yeah, these unemployed young men are TOTALLY playing videogames that now cost $80 a pop paid via a job they don’t have.
- Comment on Steam Summer Sale 2025 has begun! 2 weeks ago:
honestly the only ones I picked up this year are the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy and Jurassic World Evolution 2. that’s it.
I don’t think it’s a matter of the sale is meh but most of the stuff with deep discounts is always on sale with previous sales and thus I already picked that stuff up. You’ll constantly see the same games over and over with each sale and when you participate in each sale that number of games to get great deals on becomes less and less.
- Comment on Yes, this is what people did back then 2 weeks ago:
depends on what day of the week it is. if it’s a weekday then I turn on the TV and watch like Power Rangers or whatever was on during Fox Kids Mornings. Or if i’m in my bedroom where I didn’t have cable then bleh had to watch Global (Canada) and it was carebears or inspector gadget or something in the mornings. OR just put on the Genesis/SNES.
If it’s Saturday then I’m up early to go to the basement to watch cartoons all morning.
it was way better back then.

my favourite was the 3D “file system” in Jurassic Park. At the time I was just using DOS and had no clue about Unix and was like “oh that’s bullshit” but it wasn’t. the thing actually exists and I have it on one of my machines right now that I like to use every now and again and in my head I always think “it’s a unix system, I know this.”
- Comment on Republican Senator callously says 'biblically, we are supposed to work' to millions set to lose health care 2 weeks ago:
yeah and “biblically” we’re supposed to be feeding, clothing, washing, and housing the homeless as Jesus commanded. We’re supposed to be taking care of the ill, as Jesus commanded. We’re supposed to “love thy neighbour” and treat everyone, regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, equally as Jesus commanded.
But of course we’re not doing any of that and according to the Bible and Jesus that’s an instant ticket to “Hell”.
If Heaven exists it must be a fairly empty place.
- Comment on Monster Hunter Wilds game reviews hit "Overwhelmingly Negative" on Steam — can Capcom turn it around? 2 weeks ago:
It’s Capcom, they have no intentions of “fixing it” or “turning it around” because the execs either don’t care or no ones told them of the “overwhelmingly negative” reviews on steam. They’ll just shut it down like they have previous games. They won’t see it as people are not playing it because it’s not good they’ll just see it as people are not playing it so that must mean it’s at it end of life so we should shut it down.

I honestly don’t even think they’ll get that far. I mean they’ve announced it now, yet again, for a 2026 release date…two years from now. they’ve been doing this for the past decade. “It’ll release in 2016” then it’s “Squadron 42 coming 2018” and so on and so forth. Mark my words we’ll get to 2026 and at their little convention they have to further milk their userbase of money they’ll announce Squadron 42 for 2028 but please, user, they need more backers and as a reward for backing you’ll get a fancy ship you’ll never get to keep.

So Star Trek Online is an MMORPG and has been around for a several years now. In the game there’s a story, a convoluted one, but a story none the less.
Now imagine every single thing that has ever happened in the entirety of Star Trek regardless of tv show, movie, timeline, multiverse, animated show, whatever. everything. think of everything that has ever had “Star Trek” in it’s title. got it? good. it’s in the game. and in the story.
One aspect is the mirror universe which is a decent chunk of the story and it’s a good excuse to bring back old Star Trek actors whose characters might be dead. Like there’s A LOT of mirror universe stuff in the game.
really at the end of the day Star Trek Online is essentially the multiverse nexus of all Star Trek.

looks like Star Trek: Suicide Squad.
And what’s with Trek suddenly being like “Yeah, Rachael Garrett…lets really bring her into the fold” it’s like show runners at paramount FINALLY noticed that Yesterday’s Enterprise is a lot of fans favorite Trek episode of all time…with the alternate timeline…focused on military and action…ah shit yeah it all makes sense now.
