Second, the left has been calling the right Nazis for decades.
No comment about the word “feminazi”?

So… they shouldn’t exist?
- Comment on Nintendo discontinuing Gold Points on the Switch eShop, ahead of Switch 2 release 3 days ago:
There was a 3D Megaman platformer. It was called Megaman Legends and it got a sequel, but for some reason they never made a third one.
Meanwhile… If you like the gameplay of Ratchet & Clank why not just play that? I like JRPGs but I’m not upset that Psychonauts isn’t a JRPG, for example…
I’m coming at this from the perspective of a Sonic the Hedgehog fan. The Genesis/Mega Drive platformers were peak. The 3D games were… well, some of them were okay, but all the money and effort that was poured into them meant that for a long time, Sega wasn’t making the kind of game I actually found fun. The problem with changing up the entire style of the game you make is that you’ll inevitably leave fans behind.

Is this a joke? Side-scrolling platformers are fun and not every game needs voice-acting.
- Comment on why do transphobes mention pedophiles/compare them to pedophiles when most trans people (as do most people) hate pedophiles? 4 days ago:
I honestly have no idea if MAPs are trolls or actual pedos trying to rebrand.
- Comment on why do transphobes mention pedophiles/compare them to pedophiles when most trans people (as do most people) hate pedophiles? 4 days ago:
“Pedosexual” was a false flag operation by 4channers to try and make people think LGBTQ folks supported pedos.

- Comment on I'm OOTL: Why is TikTok being banned? 4 weeks ago:
Tiktok is owned by a Chinese company, so all of the data harvesting that’s perfectly fine for Facebook and Twitter to do suddenly became a problem for the US government.

Dw I’m not planning on making any important medical decisions based on the answers here, it’s just something I was curious about. I’ll definitely consult a doctor if I ever decide I want to do a weed. I was mostly just curious what other people had to say.
- Comment on Has anyone attempted to create a Fediverse-based Character AI like service? 5 weeks ago:
Why? The fediverse is for talking to people.

It’s never wrong to avoid having children for any reason.
- Comment on How can I use an LLM to generate a 10k word long coherent story? 1 month ago:
Looking through your past comments on Lemmy the only other thing I can see is this:
I wish there was some feature in the works to let me see less memes and US politics without having to block or subscribe to a bunch of communities.
You’re just not interested in doing anything at all for yourself, huh? You just want to sit there and mindlessly consume whatever shows up in front of you?
- Comment on How can I use an LLM to generate a 10k word long coherent story? 1 month ago:
Why do you want to do this? What is your end goal?
If it’s to read a story, there are already more stories in the world than you could hope to read in your entire lifetime. Written by humans, with actual intention behind them, guaranteed to be coherent.
If it’s to create a story, well, you’re not creating anything by having an LLM do it for you.

Since OP isn’t the developer of the game, I don’t see how they could. Also it looks like a paid game.

- Comment on US rep asks Valve to remove ‘Oct. 7’ game from Steam 2 months ago:
Do you think Palestine sprung into existence on October 7? Why does every discussion of Israel being genocidal colonizers come down to an incident that happened decades after their oppression of Palestine began?
- Comment on US rep asks Valve to remove ‘Oct. 7’ game from Steam 2 months ago:
It has been removed in the EU on behalf of french anti-terrorist authorities. So this is an actual terrorism-concern and not just censorship.
Any support for Palestine is being called “terrorist” these days, so I’d rather make the judgment call for myself.
hey, a fellow linux user. Long-time or recent?
Been using Linux for 20 years.
- Comment on US rep asks Valve to remove ‘Oct. 7’ game from Steam 2 months ago:
I don’t even like this genre of game but I bought it (after downloading the demo to make sure it would run under Proton) because fuck this censorship.

- Comment on Veilguard Isn’t the First Dragon Age Game to Face ‘Woke’ Criticism 3 months ago:
But transgenders and pronouns were never ever a thing in the Dragon Age franchise, and now they suddenly feature these so prominently.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krem_(Dragon_Age)
Every Dragon Age game has had pronouns because that’s how fucking language works. Your brain has just been poisoned by right-wing outrage over “pronouns”.
Also, “transgenders” isn’t a word. “Transgender” is an adjective, not a noun, not that I expect that to mean anything to someone who freaks out about “pronouns”.

They don’t care. There’s no point in calling conservatives out on hypocrisy. Only a very small number of them will give a shit, and those will be the ones who were already having doubts.

- Comment on Every show with a suicide now has a disclaimer with a suicide hotline at the beginning. Is there any evidence that these warnings make a positive difference? 5 months ago:
What do you propose as the solution, then? Without any up-front disclosure of the triggering content being present, how can anybody make the choice whether or not to expose themself to it?
- Comment on Every show with a suicide now has a disclaimer with a suicide hotline at the beginning. Is there any evidence that these warnings make a positive difference? 5 months ago:
There’s evidence that trigger warnings actually worsen anxiety and are counterproductive
I’d be interested in seeing these studies.
The way to treat anxiety is to face the source of anxiety to try and change your relationship and reaction. The best way to do this is via controlled access that exposes one to the trigger gradually in a context that has no risk of harm (eg a media depiction, discussing the concept, building up to discussing the source of trauma that led to the phobic response if applicable)
Trigger warnings enable active avoidance. This sensitizes one to the aversive stimuli and makes the phobic response stronger. As a result when one encounters the stimulus (eg a friend, family, celebrity etc commits suicide, suffers an eating disorder, etc) your resilience to the trigger is now even lower and the response is more likely to be more significant than it was before.
These two paragraphs seem to contradict each other. Controlled access in a safe setting like a media depiction sounds great. That’s exactly what trigger warnings are for. They tell you that the content is present in the media you’re about to watch. How can you possibly do controlled exposure without knowing if the content is there or not?

I was reading Matt Parker’s new trigonometry book and they made some remark about triangles in spherical geometry and I went “wait, what if you did this”
