As much as I like putting limitations on lootboxes or banning them out right, I’ve seen what developers do when they can’t use lootboxes. $20 to $30 “micro” transactions and predatory menus and game mechanics that make you feel bad for not owning the latest hotness. They will do anything to make that microtransaction money regardless. They’ll just take advantage of a different part of your brain.

They look like any other mine, really. Only ever been inside the mine once but it was pretty neat. Most of the actual mining is done by machines that are controlled remotely. The big chunks of the pure shit looks like a pinkish orange quartz rock. Most of what they get isn’t as pure though and they need to refine it with crushers and the like.
They got warehouses where they keep the raw ore before it’s processed. It honestly just looks like sparkly dirt at this stage. After they process it they get a few different products out of it and crush it into different consistencies like fine grain or granular. They have these domes that they store them in that have a feeder at the bottom to slowly trickle out onto conveyors for transport or more refining. Pretty much each dome has a different product too with different grains and uses. Most of it by this point looks like the cinnamon crystals on Cinnamon Toast Crunch. That’s the good shit right there where it’s all potash with very little impurities.
They get a lot of different kinds of salt out of it and they keep most of that outside. Some of that stuff is super white and fine. It has the consistency of sand or snow (or even cocaine) and looks the part too. I mean, it’s basically just salt at this point (not the kind you wanna eat) and they sell it off depending on its use. I don’t think it’s the same kinda stuff they’d send off to the evaporation pools but I could be mistaken. Last time I was there they had a giant pile outside that was about the size of a grocery store of that white salt. And one of the salt piles that’s a byproduct is road salt. Not as pure and not very expensive, but it’s just a by product so they refine that shit to sell it off.

It’s honestly such a pain in the ass to say no to everything Google shoves down your throat these days. And even after you say no it will remind you every so many days just in case you changed your mind after the 15th time you said no.

Hey! I almost forgot about this when I left Reddit. I was so excited to see it come to fruition some day. I’d love to beta test but I’ve moved to an office job since then so I probably won’t be able to help much.
- Comment on We need a new Amazon 4 weeks ago:
Honestly I’ve been enjoying going to stores in person again. It definitely takes some getting used to after the convenience of online shopping has been a part of my life pretty much since I was in highschool , but I think the change is worth it. I’ll just make a list of things that I need and when the list gets big enough I just make a day of it and just go to a bunch of different stores.
I kinda forgot how satisfying it can be to actually go shopping. I got a couple new pillows and some new bed sheet sets last month and it was so nice being able to feel what I was buying before I actually got it. If I’d gotten the pillows from Amazon I guarantee I’d get something cheap and not find out until they show up that they are awful. And I probably wouldn’t return them and just internalize it and convince myself they were better than my old pillows because they are “new.”

Except the photo they have of him with his face visible isn’t even the same guy. Doesn’t even have the same clothes or backpack. So unless this dude is proficient at changing his clothes and ditching a backpack all while riding an electric scooter down the street in New York, then they have the wrong guy in that photo.

Like I said, making exceptions is always a bad idea. It’s how these fuck heads even get away with it. But at the same time I can’t agree with exceptions even if I agree with the reason behind it.
- Comment on Do you want the murderer of the UnitHealthcare CEO prosecuted? 1 month ago:
Exactly. :)
- Comment on Do you want the murderer of the UnitHealthcare CEO prosecuted? 1 month ago:
Yeah, that’s kinda my point. The system is fucked beyond repair specifically because these people running the companies get exceptions. These people have basically let thousands of people die for the sake of money. So like I said before, murder is murder and should be treated as such.
- Comment on Do you want the murderer of the UnitHealthcare CEO prosecuted? 1 month ago:
If he gets caught, then I’d say yes. Murder should be treated as murder regardless of what the reason is. Making exceptions is never a good idea.
I just hope he doesn’t get caught.
- Comment on That's right! 1 month ago:
How do you even find stuff like that? Because I’ve definitely thought of giving that a try ngl.
- Comment on That's right! 1 month ago:
Bro, I’m trying. I work all the time and online dating sucks butt. I think I’ve been on every dating app there is at least twice over the past 7 years with zero success. Like, I know I’m an introvert but it shouldn’t be that hard. Especially when everyone and their mom tells me how great of a dude I am.
I think my problem is that I’m just not built for online dating. My last girlfriend and I met through fucking Reddit of all places… They should make a dating app for introverts where there are no pictures until you match with someone. Because I’m sure I’m not the only introvert that cannot for the life them take a good picture of themselves.

Every time a big company lays people off I always try to remember that it’s not because they aren’t making enough money as a company. It’s because the “important” people want more money.
- Comment on Anon is sick 2 months ago:
Sorry but I’m not missing rent, going further into debt, or becoming homeless because I’m sick. My landlord doesn’t give a shit if I’m sick and neither does the electric company or my car insurance company. I wanna be a decent person and not get other people sick, but I’m not gonna risk losing everything because I can’t work.
- Comment on Anon is sick 2 months ago:
As someone that has to go into work sick all the time, God I wish sick pay was required. I wanna be a decent person and try not to get people sick. But at the same time I live paycheck to paycheck and if I miss too much work oops now I’m fucked.
- Comment on Anon is sick 2 months ago:
You wanna know what makes that other guy a Chad? The fact that he doesn’t need to focus on who cares about him when he’s sick. Pity parties are a huge turn off for the majority of people. I think it’s a subconscious reaction that most people have regardless of who the other person is. Unless you are already close to someone, whether family or a close friend, you shouldn’t expect them to feel bad for you. I wouldn’t expect the clerk at a gas station to feel bad for me if I came in late to pick up some NyQuil. But we’ll definitely shoot the shit about how being sick fucking blows.
- Comment on Five flavors 🤤 2 months ago:
Five Finger Death Punch is as close as you can possibly get to pop music without leaving the genre of metal completely. I don’t judge people if it’s their jam, I just think they are extremely mediocre at best. It’s no coincidence that the majority of their most popular songs are covers.
But hey, people like what they like.

- Comment on My mental health has improved after deleting games that have microtransactions in them 3 months ago:
Until they start charging only money for the battle passes. I never even used 80% of the skins I got on the battle passes anyway. I just wanted them so I didn’t not have them. As someone that has over 2,000 hours in Apex, I’m so glad I jumped ship. The grass was very green on the other side.
- Comment on why do I sweat so much more on leg day at the gym? 3 months ago:
I’m not an expert, but I’d say it’s because your legs are basically half your body. Not only that but most leg exercises require the use of other muscles. Like, if you’re squatting with weights you are using pretty much every major muscle group in your body.
- Comment on My mental health has improved after deleting games that have microtransactions in them 3 months ago:
I cannot tell you how much better my mental health has been since I stopped playing Apex Legends, Overwatch, and Rocket League. I never had anything against the gameplay of these games but the microtransactions and battle passes were just straight up toxic. After a couple weeks you simply don’t give a shit anymore and it’s amazing. I see my roommate playing these games until 3 AM every day because he has to do his daily challenges for 4 different games. He’ll be so pissed off that he can barely speak as he powers through game after game to get them done so he can go to bed. And in hindsight, that’s probably what I used to look like back when I played those games.

- Comment on Anon loses weight 3 months ago:
Losing weight is not an easy thing to do if you’ve been overweight most of your life. You literally have to fundamentally change everything about your life just to get it done. And it’s a slow process and a commitment that you have to stick to for months or even years. It can really fuck with your motivation when the progress is so slow you could go months and only lose like 10 pounds. I only went from 250 to about 150 but it was one of the hardest things I’ve done and I’ve quit smoking.
