It’s the same religious organization that went after them NSFW games on Steam. Like the games or not, it’s always a slippery slope with this kind of censorship.

There are numerous tools already out there for parents to use to monitor and censor what their kids see online. Schools have been using it since the Internet came out and it’s only gotten more robust over the years. Not only that, but kids always figure out a way around this shit and will continue to do so until the end of time because that’s just what they do. The only thing this does is punish everyone and implement more surveillance. And since people are people and kids are kids, there will be workarounds within days even without a VPN.

That’s what I do too. I’ve bought it for all my friends or have convinced them to get it. Feels like I’m a drug dealer trying to push it on everyone I know lol.
- Comment on Stardew Valley dethrones Valve classic as Steam’s top-rated game 2 weeks ago:
But at the same time there are plenty of indie devs that sell games for $30 and then have a few $15 DLC on top of that after a few years. Not throwing shade at those other devs, more just saying that the dev for Stardew Valley could have sold DLC and nobody would have questioned it but chose not to. You could be like Stardew Valley and keep the game cheap, free updates, and frequent sales or you could be like Factorio and refuse to ever put your game on sale and up the price every couple of years and come out with a $20 DLC. And I’d be shocked if Stardew Valley has made less money than Factorio in the long run, especially with it being the in number one place right now.
- Comment on Stardew Valley dethrones Valve classic as Steam’s top-rated game 2 weeks ago:
And I’d say that it is 100% deserved. Stardew Valley is a once in a lifetime kind of game and has one of the best developers you could ask for. Free new content and updates for 10 years and it’s still like $20 and frequently on sale. The developer actually tweeted out once that if he ever charged for new content that he’d want everyone to publicly shame him.
“I swear on the honor of my family name, i will never charge money for a DLC or update for as long as I live. Screencap this and shame me if I ever violate this oath.”
Stardew Valley is the gaming industry at its best and one of the best indie games out there.

And that’s how I used to be back in the day and that shit destroys your mental health. And when you do “slip” it’s always worse and more exaggerated because of the repressed feelings. I would think that there was something wrong with me and I hated that part of me. I wished that I was completely straight and would internally shame myself whenever I had “gay thoughts” because I thought it made me less of a man. But at the end of the day, nobody cares about how manly you are except for people that want to feel like they are better than you or want something from you.

The amount of “straight but curious” guys I’ve found out in the world is a little too high for that to be the case.

That’s kinda the situation I’m in too. Dating women has always been easier for me so according to everyone that knows me I’m hetero even though I’ve told them that I’m bi. They just can’t see it.
- Comment on is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal 2 weeks ago:
Yeah, I think you are right and I couldn’t find anything. I just find it highly suspicious that my dad is hardcore homophobic when more than half of his immediate family is gay or bisexual. Like, even his brother is gay.

Micro$oft is like the new EA. This is the exact same shit EA did 10 years back when they bought up dozens of studios, milked the shit out of them, and then closed the studio so the executives could get bonuses.
- Comment on is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal 2 weeks ago:
I feel like bisexuality is way more common than what we see. And if anything, I feel like the reason why so many women are more likely bi or willing to experiment vs men is literally just the bullshit stigma against being seen as gay.
And this may just be my experience, but being bisexual isn’t as easy as just choosing one or the other. The problem is that if you repress that much of your sexuality it only grows more… Intense. And sometimes more depraved, which is never a good thing. And I feel like that’s why a lot of those men end up getting caught doing “gay” things but it’s never just normal stuff. It’s always super crazy shit they get caught doing because it’s been repressed for so long that they make awful impulse decisions on feelings they’ve been ignoring for years. Like holding in your anger for 30 years and then going absolutely fucking mental when your coworker takes your parking spot.
- Comment on is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal 2 weeks ago:
As someone that used to be homophobic in highschool, I can confirm this is the case. My dad is super homophobic yet all of his kids, including myself, are at least bisexual.
- Comment on MAGA Mom Was Taken by ICE, but Her Husband Refuses to Stop Flying Trump Flag: 'We Understand What He's Doing' 2 weeks ago:
It’s because they think they are making a necessary sacrifice for the greater good. The idea of MAGA is to make America great again and to sacrifice everything to do it. It’s a belief system based on nothing but one man’s promise to make a vague promise that this will all be worth it in the end. They will fight tooth and nail to achieve what they believe will make America great again without realizing that the people they are fighting alongside have a completely different version of what would make America great. And it’s the reason why those in charge keep the promise as vague as possible. Everyone has their own vision of the world, but if you have “make America great again” as the end of the discussion you can both be talking about completely different things yet be on the same side.
- Comment on A West Virginia Coal Miner Just Saved NIOSH’s Black Lung Program 3 weeks ago:
We literally had a war over coal mining in the US. Health and safety regulations and unions were the compromise companies made for workers to not come to the boss’s house and beat the shit out of them or worse. Sure, some people ignore the regulations and end up getting hurt or killed, but the majority of workers are not ready to die just so the company they work for can make more money.

- Comment on The Outer Worlds 2 Can't Be Anti-Capitalist When It's Charging Us $80 To Play It 1 month ago:
I’m sure if it was up to the developers and creative minds behind the game this would have never been an issue. Sure, things like inflation have made the process of making games more expensive, but it’s not like the extra money is going to actually go back to the developers. I’m so sick of this “games are more expensive to make” bullshit while they treat their employees like garbage and make them work ungodly hours. Micro$oft makes more money in one day than most of us or any of the developers will ever see in our entire lifetimes yet they need to lecture us on why we need to give them more money.
To be clear, I hold no grudge against the actual developers of this game. The first one was pretty decent and I’m sure this next one will be relatively good as well. But remember that we are talking about the company that forced Arkane to make Redfall when they had no desire to make it and after it failed fired everyone at Arkane Austin and closed the studio. This isn’t about making their money back to cover the cost of development, it’s about making as much profit as possible with the least amount of effort possible.

I didn’t even buy Borderlands 3 for $60 and there’s no way in hell I’d pay $80 for something similar. I spent the full price of Baldur’s Gate 3 for myself and two of my friends for a total of $180. Make the game worth it and you have my money. If the development cost of games has gone up then prove it and make better games.

And look, I’ve played early access games before and I’m used to playing games that do a server wipe every once in a while or saves being incompatible with the new version, but I’m talking every update and multiple times a year. It makes it so the only sense of progress you feel is when you buy a ship with real money so you can still have it on the next update. It’s a very exhausting game.

- Comment on Star Citizen’s new cash shop offerings provoked fresh pay-to-win and predatory monetization accusations | Massively Overpowered 2 months ago:
As someone that played star citizen and enjoyed the gameplay very much, this game has been basically ruined by greed for years now. They basically discourage playing the actual game with these practices. Sure, you can work your ass off and make a butt load of money to buy a bunch of cool guns, armor, and ships, but as soon as they do a server wipe, which they do fairly regularly, most if not all of it will get wiped clean. But if you give them real money you get to keep them everything after a server wipe.
I even had a friend where his ship, bought with in game currency, glitched and he was able to keep it several updates later with no issue while mine disappeared. We both bought them with in game currencies at about the same time. Mine disappeared as soon as the update came out and he had it for almost two years! To me that sounds like it’s intentional and they could totally get away with letting you keep your stuff but they choose not to.
