- Comment on Oblivion remake is... really making it apparent how outdated Bethesda is in its approach to making games 1 week ago:
It’s a remaster of a game from 2006 with a fresh coat of paint and some QOL changes and that’s basically all it ever could be. 70% of the game did not age well and they honestly did the best they could. If they did a complete remake and “modernized” the game all the old-school fans would be pissed. If they kept it as true to the original as possible besides a facelift they’d make it harder for new players to want to pick it up. I feel like a good 7/10 was the best they could shoot for under most circumstances.
And if you ask anyone where Bethesda fell off, depending on which game was their first, they will all give you a different answer. For me Morrowind and Oblivion are the best in the series and that’s with over 500 hours in Skyrim. They’ve been dumbing their games down with each new iteration since the 90s as they try to “modernize” the newest game each time and reach new audiences. Like, good luck playing Morrowind or Daggerfall these days without losing your patience in a matter of hours. And Morrowind especially is barely playable without mods these days.
I still hated Starfield, though. Gave it the old college try and left so underwhelmed I couldn’t tell you a damn thing about the story.

Is there one to get rid of the “piss” filter they put over the game? That’s really my only complaint so far.
- Comment on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - Official Trailer (Available Today!) 2 weeks ago:
A deluxe edition does seem a little lame for a remaster. But at the same time the deluxe edition is still cheaper than Starfield and I’d much rather play this.
- Comment on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - Official Trailer (Available Today!) 2 weeks ago:
I straight up got emotional during the trailer and announcement stream. Oblivion was the first RPG of this kind that I ever played and was one of my favorite games in middle school. Hopefully it’s a stable release because I wanna play that shit as soon as I get home from work.
- Comment on Maryland Senator Meets With Wrongly Deported Man in El Salvador 2 weeks ago:
This is actually huge. Now that this is in the public eye the world will be watching and they can’t try to hide him. I know this is only one man out of many and they probably just cleaned him up for the meeting, but I’m just so fucking glad he’s alive.

“Hey you, you’re finally awake.”
- Comment on The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remaster is real - Eurogamer 3 weeks ago:
My only thing is that I hope they fixed some of the blaring issues with the original. I still go back and play the Oblivion from time to time, but I usually have to spend 4 or 5 hours just downloading and installing mods. My biggest gripe with Oblivion has always been enemy scaling. Unless you do the main quest first you’ll be fighting the strongest enemies in the game by the time you get around to it.
- Comment on The Sims Competitor inZOI Sells 1 Million in a Week, Krafton Declares It a ‘Long-Term Franchise IP’ 4 weeks ago:
I’ve seen some people play it because it seems pretty cool. Although it doesn’t look amazing and seems pretty shallow, but at the same time it’s only $40. The price tag alone is almost enough for me to give it a try. Any of the Sims games are hundreds of dollars at this point if you wanna buy the DLC. And that’s on a decent sale, too.
- Comment on The Sims Competitor inZOI Sells 1 Million in a Week, Krafton Declares It a ‘Long-Term Franchise IP’ 4 weeks ago:
Which is really unfortunate because The Sims 4 was my least favorite of the franchise. Probably only played it for about 20 hours over the years while I have hundreds in 2 and 3.
- Comment on ‘After Midnight’ Canceled After Two Seasons On CBS; Network Will Stop Programming 12:30am Slot 1 month ago:
At first I thought this was gonna be because of some bullshit by CBS because of ratings or some shit. Turns out it’s just because Taylor Tomlinson wants to do stand-up again and that actually makes me happy. She’s definitely one of my favorite new comedians and I’m so down to see her tour again.
- Comment on In Warning Sign for Hollywood, Younger Consumers Are Choosing Creator Content Over Premium TV and Movies 1 month ago:
And they will learn nothing from this and release 16 more super hero movies, remakes nobody asked for, and prequels/sequels to movies that came out 20 - 30 years ago. I’m more excited for the movie Iron Lung because it’s being made by a YouTuber that actually gives a shit about what they are making vs rehashed bullshit that focuses more on “second screen” attention instead of making something worth our time.
- Comment on Civilization 7 Outlines Crucial 1.1.1 Update as It Struggles to Compete on Steam Against Civ 6 and Even the 15-Year-Old Civ 5 1 month ago:
My philosophy is that Civ 5 and Civ 6 are just fine. My friend was going to buy 7 on release and I was like “yeah, but you can just go play Civ 6. It’s not like it’s a bad game just because the new one is out.” And I’m glad I convinced him otherwise because of how “okay” Civ 7 has been so far. Nothing against the game, I just already have the last three Civ games with all DLC and there is still a mountain of content that we already have to play with each other.
- Comment on Opinion | It Isn’t Just Trump. America’s Whole Reputation Is Shot. 1 month ago:
Even if by some miracle we manage to stop this shit, which is looking more and more unlikely, we’ve basically lost the trust of pretty much every other country in the world we used to call a friend. You don’t earn that shit back overnight and this is going to hurt every American for decades.

As someone that lives above a meth-lab, that’s a pretty good analogy. One day I’m selling my old car to them and we’re shooting the shit, the next they’re banging on my door at 3 AM saying they’re gonna fucking kill me for literally no reason.

- Comment on Realistically, how feasible is it to 100% boycott a massive corporation (such as Amazon) for an extended period of time? 1 month ago:
If you strive for perfection you will always fall short. Just do what you can. I started actually going to stores instead of buying things online, but sometimes that is not feasible. If I absolutely have to buy something from Amazon, I canceled my Prime and just wait longer for my packages. As for the other services Amazon provides I have no idea. Look for alternatives as best you can.
The goal is more about giving as little money as possible to Amazon as possible. You don’t have to go cold turkey and cut it all out if it causes problems for you. Use this time to research alternatives for the future as you pivot away.

Hey, I got something I’d like to say to my fellow Americans. We need to stop being embarrassed and start getting angry. We can’t just apologize for Zelensky being berated on live TV in front of the whole world. Stop apologizing and start making a difference. Join a protest and stop letting the orange dictator speak for your country.
- Comment on White House: 1 Million Federal Workers Responded to Mass Email Asking to List Accomplishments 2 months ago:
But we also don’t know the contents of those emails and they will never share them or even look at them as their AI fires people. I’m sure they’re just using this as a catchall reason for firing whoever they want.
And I’m sure some people are still holding onto hope that they will keep their career that they’ve put years of work and effort into. You can’t blame people for trying to keep their family financially stable.
- Comment on Bannon Salute, Echoing Musk, Draws Criticism From French Right 2 months ago:
He didn’t seem that committed unlike Musk. Musk put his heart and soul into his salute. Bannon looked like he was told to do it. Like deep down he knew it was fucked up. Something like “if you don’t do this on stage we will ruin your fucking life” kinda energy.
- Comment on Projected DOGE savings now near $110 billion, or over $700 per American taxpayer. 2 months ago:
And defunding things that help people just because you disagree with it isn’t corruption? Even when you know all this money they are “saving” is just going right back into their pockets? Lemme know when you get your check in the mail and maybe then I’ll believe you.
- Comment on DOGE Claimed It Saved $8 Billion in One Contract. It Was Actually $8 Million. 2 months ago:
Regardless of the amount, that’s all going back to the people, right? And since we’re saving so much money we should have lower taxes, right? Lemme know when y’all get your check in the mail because I’m still broke as fuck.
- Comment on Projected DOGE savings now near $110 billion, or over $700 per American taxpayer. 2 months ago:
And y’all really think you’ll see any of that money? Or that your taxes will go down because of all the new savings? Like I get it, the government wastes money. But if you think this helps the average American in any way you are extremely naive.

I totally feel you but for a different reason. I played Balatro for a few days and literally the only thing Steam recommended to me for over a month was just card based rogue-like games.
Also I recommend the one by RTGame. Probably my favorite streamer. He’s Irish so I never catch the streams but the YouTube videos are great.
