I have always wanted to own a sword; but I will never trust the general public to be responsible swordspeople.

When this starts happening, it’s a sign that you need either sleep or stimulants.

Absolutely.

Isn’t that the whole idea? Allowing people to request euthanasia?
- Comment on The sheer amount of websites that are completely unusable without JavaScript 1 week ago:
Librewolf isn’t available on Android.
On the desktop, it’s decent. It’s also what I recommend to most people asking me for advice. However, on that front, it’s beaten by Tor Browser and Mullvad Browser.
- Comment on What's the name of the type of man I'm attracted to? (pictured) 2 weeks ago:
In England, we call them roadmen.

I mean, that would work, and it would be a fun site to visit; but visually impaired users and non-English speakers would have difficulty without alt text, and at that point you’d may as well just write a regular page. However, as I said, it would be fun.

I know, and I’m still researching the best way to mitigate this. So far, I’ve come away with the impression that Tor Browser and Brave do the best jobs of minimising fingerprinting, otherwise I would have just disabled JS in Vanadium and called it a day.
- Comment on The sheer amount of websites that are completely unusable without JavaScript 2 weeks ago:
As it happens, Brave started crashing for no apparent reason shortly after I posted this, so I’m back on Tor Browser. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
- Comment on The sheer amount of websites that are completely unusable without JavaScript 2 weeks ago:
Yes, I’m aware of the irony.
- Comment on The sheer amount of websites that are completely unusable without JavaScript 3 weeks ago:
I flip back and forth between Brave and Tor Browser, depending on which one appears less fingerprintable; and I’ve disabled all of the analytics.

I generally do the same. In fact, on desktop, uBO is set to hard mode. Unfortunately, I do need to access these sites from time to time.

HTML and CSS can do quite a lot, and you can use
cgi-bin
for some scripting.Of course, it’s not a perfect alternative. JavaScript is sometimes the only option; but a website like the one I was trying to use could easily have just been a static site.

I’m using OVHcloud. It’s pretty good and the pricing is decent. They’re also based in the EU, which is good (although I think the EU were possibly working on a mass surveillance bill or something; idk, everyone seems to be doing that these days).

- Comment on YouTube most popular first TV destination for children, Ofcom finds 1 month ago:
BBC One usually has documentaries that kids aren’t interested by, and BBC Two tends to fill the daytime with Flog It! and Homes Under The Hammer. ITV 1 is the same, only with Dickinson’s Real Deal and trashy reality shows. Channel 4 is like BBC One: uninteresting documentaries and high-brow reality. Channel 5 is more reality. I have never seen a local TV provider worth watching (I live in north east England and central Scotland).

Well of course it is. Broadcast TV is mostly shit, and other streaming services are often more adult-oriented.

I do have further reasons, but they aren’t relevant to this discussion and, frankly, I can’t be arsed to argue with any more people right now.
