It’s honestly be less mad about that.
A 25,000 sqft ballroom is opulence, a 25,000 sqft ball_ pit_ is an international attraction! In time it might also lead to the discovery of new life forms…

The description of the bird starts out by saying that it’s very trusting, and will often perch on passers-by. Checks out, I guess!

It is the PLU code used for bananas in grocery stores. The PLU code is the code the cashier punches in before weighing the produce to get the correct price.

Sure, I might have worded myself a bit clumsily. I meant using them in a conversational way. They’re trying to say “less than 500 steps,” which is very different from “500 is larger than steps per day” in tone.
My point was just that in normal speech and writing you would say “less than 500”, which would be written “< 500” if you insisted on using the mathematical sign.
- Comment on monthly challenge 2 months ago:
That’s not how that works, though… It is 100 % what they meant, but not at all how you use greater than/less than signs in text.

Is it just me or does neither the prompt nor the image description actually describe this image? The human figure is far away from the pedestal and not kneeling, there is no cave entrance, the cave does not look circular, the wolf is neither a wolf (apart from the head) nor above, there are no beetle shells, this does not look like an oil painting…

I love how the book says that no one has observed electricity, yet it has a picture of a lightning bolt on the cover 🤦

Damn… yeah those samples suggest ~6–8mg of plastic per gram of sample tissue in the brains from 2024 😟 That would be like 10 grams in an entire adult brain if the distribution is even.
“Thankfully” it looks like the brain has the highest concentration of all studied organs 🙃

The original post (not shown in the screenshot) is from PBS, that’s why it says “Author” by their name. If it was in English (likely) it makes sense to answer in English as well.

As per usual, Apple heavily prefers its own hardware and software. Using the TV app on my Mac the image quality of Apple TV+ blows all the other streaming services out of the water, but in the browser it’s a blurry, buffering mess 🤷♂️

My favorite strategy in this manual is using a middle management position and making sure everyone is working as inefficiently as possible. Probably also among the ones most relevant to the current situation!

They might not be a native English speaker. In my language (Norwegian), the word for “billion” is “milliard”. I think that’s also the case in German.

Ah, yes! The 3 billion Americans on Facebook!
And why would you make that assumption? The internet has no borders, so it doesn’t really matter where or by whom something is made. Especially if the language is English, which has somewhere between 1.5 and 2 billion speakers worldwide.

It’s not a notification, it’s the icon for the “sleep” focus in iOS: You can set different focuses on your phone that are triggered automatically or manually and let you filter notifications, change home screens, and more.
- Comment on Seconds 1 year ago:
If by obvious question you mean “why is it called a minute,” that is because “minute” means “small.” So you have the first minute (small) division and the second minute division of the hour.
