- Comment on Christie's First-Ever AI Art Auction Earns $728,000, Plus Controversy 2 weeks ago:
Herndon and Dryhurst are frequent collaborators, and xhairymutantx is their work. So they didn’t just prompt an LLM to make the image, they trained the model themselves. And they specifically trained the model on pictures of Herndon (who has distinctive red, braided hair).
I’m personally a really big fan of their work (which I don’t expect everyone to be), but the picture that’s being circulated in articles and apparently sold at auction without context is pretty uninspiring.

This isn’t a shitpost, this is legitimate. Being able to work through the physicality of emotions is an important part of processing them. You need to be able to cry when you’re sad, jump up-and-down when you’re excited, and scream when your angry, for examples.

Of course. I’m just talking about folklore as it relates to story elements. Moana isn’t an adapted fairy tale like Aladdin or Snow White.

As far as I can tell, only Maui and the Kakamora (not as cute, little coconut people but as tricky spirits) are specifically elements of Pacific Island folklore.

Shitty cope. I’m a good person because I don’t hate people, I just hate their gender.
- Comment on A real landlord special. 3 months ago:
I actually like it better this way, as I wouldn’t have to reach in as far to turn it on. I think having controls there and the spigot on the corner on the left would be best, though.

- Comment on Why are vegan and gluten free items more expensive? 7 months ago:
You can make vegan milk at home and it’s way cheaper than cow’s milk. Oat milk is SUPER EASY: 1 cup oats/2 cups water, soak for 15 minutes, blend and strain. Others are similarly easy and there are plenty of recipes online.

Having tasted a few dog foods and treats, I agree.
- Comment on Pumpkin Spice Greenies. As in the dog treats. That is all. 7 months ago:
I’m guessing the pumpkin spice isn’t too strong either, but dried pumpkin is the first “flavorful” ingredient, at least.

But these do have pumpkin in them.

My dog goes nuts for pumpkin puree, but hates greenies, so I dunno
- Comment on How is Lemmy better than Reddit? 7 months ago:
My baseless opinion is that having a variety of instances with varying ethoses means that there’s a good home instance for everyone (not just the verysmart, young, white, male, liberal a la Reddit), and federation means that that variety of people are intersecting and interacting a lot more than if instances were completely separate. At the same time, it still feels like a small community, or maybe a bunch of small communities. There seems to be a lot less of the snarky clapbacks and unpopular opinions getting nuked that’s typical of other social media.

As a combination back- and side-sleeper, I’ve been considering trying to strap foam blocks to the side of my head so I can always get the right amount of support regardless of position.

I just recently watched The Matrix Resurrections, and it’s renewed my interest in the Wachowskis. There was a lot that reminded me of Sense8, and I’ve been considering a rewatch, but maybe I’ll check this out.

There’s plenty of heavy jazz. Maybe try some late Coltrane or Peter Brötzmann. Tigran Hamasyan brings the djent influence, as well.

Does the gender of all non-self-containing genders contain itself? This is the fundamental question of gender theory.
