I really want to understand what’s the big deal about foreign languages. If both speak the same second language, then maybe having a few conversations in it might be fun, but if you don’t what is exciting about someone that can say things you don’t understand?

Anyone who has been around actual gym rats knows that it’s never the opposite sex they are chatting, comparing and posing with.
- Comment on I don't think it's possible for me to complete this Steam achievement 2 weeks ago:
No one is forced to do achievements to enjoy a game. I understand achievement hunting, but since they can easily be cheated (on steam at least) it really is only a personal goal. If you are not enjoying one just forget about it.
- Comment on Ads 3 weeks ago:
Most creators have patreons. The big ones take sponsorships also. The pittance they get from any ads I may have watched do not matter.
- Comment on Why do Counterstrike and the other top 10 games on Steam NEVER change? 1 month ago:
Yes, not only many people still play the same games for 10 years, but also spend most of their gaming time in them. There’s a reason why a new live service game is both a gold mine and also incredibly difficult to stick.
- Comment on I make games and this literally happened to me this morning 1 month ago:
For every streamer that makes minimum wage there are dozens that make so little they don’t even get paid.
- Comment on Gacha games are out of control. Gambling shouldn't be so widespread 2 months ago:
Seems about right. CSGO skin gambling was all the rage 10 years ago.
- Comment on These mini expacs really aren't doing it 2 months ago:
It really is a shame. If Arenanet was a bigger studio they could probably have two teams working on expansions at the same time so that we could get a new one every year while still allowing for two years of development.
The loss of new elite specs is by far my biggest disappointment, the lackluster metas and hit-or-miss instanced content also lowers the overall value proposition to me, personally.
- Comment on It genuinely upsets me that Valve spent their time and resources on another Dota variation 2 months ago:
Valve doesn’t want to make a buy to play game unless it’s something that pushes the medium forward somehow, which is the only reason Alyx was made. A PvP moba can be a source of continued revenue like all the other games they still support (and one they don’t).

Do we even know anything about the game other than the fact it’s getting made?

The code may be old but it isn’t necessarily slow.
- Comment on The opposite of shopaholic: shopcell 2 months ago:
I guess it depends on your bank and location in the world. Where I am you can transfer that, for free, and it is on the receiver’s account in less than 5s or so.

A lot of bs paperwork and recounting, mostly.

Your examples are of bird’s eye view games, not third person.
- Comment on What’s a game you can 100% without hating by the end? 2 months ago:
Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2 but not Dark Souls 3. The silver knight farm is brutal and I’d never do it again.

Guess getting the non k version had its perks afterall. Either way I’m going AMD next time I build a machine.

That’s the best part! Which is why it’s weird the game is bloated with other systems and minigames that pull you away from what shoulb be the core of it: diving.
- Comment on ‘Death Occurs in the Dark’: Indie Video Game Devs Are Struggling to Survive 4 months ago:
It’s a game about diving that halfway through adds a bunch of minigames that make you not need to dive.

I mean when trash like Stray and Dave the Diver gets acclaimed as “indie” games, it’s no surprise actual indie devs are straggling.

It’s what X wants you to see. It’s not a glitch or bad algorithm, it’s working as intended.

You can just drop the sub now that it isn’t worth it.
- Comment on If it ain't broke 4 months ago:
If you are new it’s probably easy. If you have some experience the roughness of it will drive you mad.
- Comment on Valve rumored to be working on Android emulator for Steam 4 months ago:
Guess they want to make it easy for mobile devs to launch their games on steam. Not sure if there’s a market for it though.
- Comment on Thoughts on the new spear skills and upcoming beta event 4 months ago:
I think some were interesting but overall I can’t shake the feeling they are a poor replacement for new elite specs. If any of them end up being good it will probably become the new go to weapon for every spec of that profession, which isn’t really good for variety.

Actually From Software is pretty crappy when it comes to this sort of thing.

Still shitty. No need to defend it just because it’s valve.
