Pumpkin puree works pretty well too if your recipe can handle a little squashiness.

I’m as offended by receiving survey requests for any and everything I buy or pay online. If it weren’t disingenuous I’d be fine with it, but it’s usually the retail marketing version of a push poll. There’s no way that they would get that something is off based on the normalized survey values without reading the non-normalized text box that corporate probably doesn’t care about. Therefore, they get a consistent value of 1, (you suck) to every question. If I had a positive experience I just don’t bother unless some poor bastard went out of their way to help me.

If you cook them until they’re mush with plenty of oil/butter, a bit more salt than I’d like to admit, pepper, dill, and a few drops of hickory smoke flavor, they’re amazing.

Double spaces after periods can create “rivers.” This makes text more difficult to read for those with dyslexia. Whatever is used as a text editor is probably stripping them out for accessibility reasons. I suppose double spaces made sense with monospaced fonts.

Furthermore, we kind of have rules for accessibility.

Neat, thanks! I just learned about kaolin clay.

One for the mouse, One for the crow, One to rot, And one to grow. I like the old rhyme, but do they actually let you have one? I like your sacrificial dill. We did that one year, but with fennel instead (just because we have more luck with that). Ultimately, it was Bacillus Thuringiensis (BT) which worked the best.

The last time I went to an oil change place, I wanted it done because I was leaving town the next day. I usually have my regular mechanic (who is excellent and honest; a rare breed) do it, or I do it myself.
The ten minute oil change took an hour and change. They tried to upsell me on a bunch of bullshit and gave me stink eye when I politely told them I just need a conventional oil change, thanks.
They overfilled it by about .75 of a quart. I had to take care of that myself before the aforementioned road trip. The car only holds about four quarts in total.
They charged twice as much as my mechanic who knows what he’s doing and gives a shit. Never again.

Fuji makes some really nice SLRs, and their glass is exceptional. Also, you don’t need to install software if you don’t want to.

Redundant, privacy compliant storage is expensive. And then you have to deal with customer people that can’t figure things out, and then there’s the barrage of bots trying to break in. Optical media is dirt cheap and most people know what to do with it.

Sadly, many can’t be trusted or bothered to use a secure means of communication. You might be surprised to know that a lot of people think whatever they use for email or sms is ‘secure.’ Many of these people hold high positions in these organizations. Often healthcare, finance, and higher ed try to sidestep the liability as a result.

They also tend to make them stand at the beginning of their lane when they don’t have customers. Apparently a light signaling that they are available just isn’t enough.

Sometimes people walking dogs plan on walking past the same spot on the return trip, so they leave the bag. Sometimes they forget to pick it back up, or forget that they dropped it there and take a different route home. Sometimes bag number two is the next day, or some other person’s bag. Generally, if someone’s going to pull a shit and split, they’re not bagging.

It’s hard to escape palm oil. It’s a shame. It could be an environmentally friendly option if greedy people were just a little less greedy.

The oil in Jif is rapeseed (canola) and/or soybean, not palm. Not disagreeing with your sentiment in general, but for the sake of clarity…
