Maybe I’m not old enough but I don’t remember a time before game DRM, when it was physical games they required you to have the disk inserted to play. The only difference was they were easier to crack and less invasive.

This is wrong, torrenting is mostly caught by reviewing the peers list of torrents with infringing content, not analyzing the traffic. Only a VPN (or Seedbox) masks your IP.

The launcher is written in Java so that’s the universal binary unlike the other platform specific ones. Just like the (very) old original Minecraft launcher.

Every time so far in a case like this I’ve had the trial still run for the remaining time after cancelling. I think it’s just a dark pattern to scare you out of cancelling early.
