I feel for you, sometimes I forget to be appreciative for things like this.
The whole thing was as uncomplicated as it can be. I was at the doctor’s for a regular checkup, during the little interview I mentioned I was taking vitamin d to alleviate the symptoms of almost no sunlight during the winter (working nights), she then explained the vitamin d - potassium relation and took some blood to check. I got the results a couple days later via email and that was that. As it was during a regular checkup it was also free of charge.
It’s awesome to be in a place where I don’t even have to actively seek out that kind of medical attention. I got an email reminding me of the checkup with some possible appointments, I clicked on one, two weeks later I mention the vitamin d in passing and it gets tested in a timely manner for free. Easy as that. I had bowel movements more complicated than that.

Check whats in you B complex, if B6 is a high dosage you should check in with your doctor, prolonged intake of high B6 doses can cause minor nerve damage. While you’re at it let them check your potassium levels, too much Vitamin D can lead to drastic Potassium levels which can cause health problems. At least in Germany the blood work for both is about 25€ and you tune your dose to what’s safe :)
It’s probably safe but some people metabolize those vitamins differently and the tests are quick and simple.

Huh, where I’m from, when you order a simple coffee you’ll always get it black and then there is a little station where you can add milk, sugar, creamer yourself and the lids are also at that station. You’ll only get it ‘pre mixed’ when you order a coffee specialty like Latte or Cappuccino.
Also in my personal opinion, from a good espresso machine, percolator or even French press I like a black coffee once in a while, but drip filter coffee is only palatable with milk. Sometimes not even then.

I use emegency blankets. They also work and are more robust than aluminum foil. They are also cheap.
We did that during my military service in the shitty barracks we had. In the summer silverside pointing outwards to reflect the sun, in the winter silver side pointing inside to keep more warmth inside.

Well at least Operation Northwoods never happened. It was just a draft and Kennedy refused to sign it into action. Don’t get me wrong, it is pretty fucked up that it came that far, but at least it never went into action.

You can freeze bread and defreeze it in the oven pretty quickly if it’s already pre-sliced.
I often combine meals, for example I buy salad and cucumber, so I make sandwiches & a salad. Next day I’ll make wraps using the salad and condiments fromthe sandwiches. I barely buy stuff just for one dish, I always have a second use in mind.
