Using that logic this includes commuting, as that is also not free time spent as desired.
- Comment on What is a passkey, in practice? Is it a file? A token? Can I keep it in an USB drive? How can I save it in case of device loss? 4 weeks ago:
Aside from platform agnostic password managers having support for it as a commenter below pointed out you can also save it on a physical “hardware security key” (e.g. yubikey). Technically this should be the best option as there is no way for anyone to steal your passkeys unless they physically take apart your hardware key (and there’s even keys that have additional protections that make it impossible to take apart without destroying it).
However every single platform really pushes people towards using their own solution. So only their solution is neatly integrated in their platform and also preselected when you save a passkey. But all in all those are rather small hurdles for the security a hardware key gives.

- Comment on Why do radio stations all seem to go on commercial at the same time? 2 months ago:
There’s a way to remove ads from the music streaming app (on Android or any platform that can emulate it) using Xmanager
- Comment on Why do radio stations all seem to go on commercial at the same time? 2 months ago:
Problem with that is that you need advertisers to buy into that idea too… And I don’t think anyone’s gonna say “ah yeah for sure they’ll listen to my ad” if it’s in a 30 min block.

- Comment on NASA Ping 3 months ago:
Once I had a board game that was a lot like this. You controlled robots on a board, and had to plan out like 5 operations (turn/step/…) each round. Chaos ensues when you have 4 people hindering (or trying to) each other.

Op is not saying this isn’t using the techniques associated with the term AI.
Correct, also not what I was replying about. I said that using AI in the headline here is very much correct. It is after all a paper using AI to detect stuff.
- Comment on Breast Cancer 3 months ago:
Well, this is very much an application of AI… Having more examples of recent AI development that aren’t ‘chatgpt’(/transformers-based) is probably a good thing.
- Comment on Breast Cancer 3 months ago:
For the image-only DL model, we implemented a deep convolutional neural network (ResNet18 [13]) with PyTorch (version 0.31; pytorch.org). Given a 1664 × 2048 pixel view of a breast, the DL model was trained to predict whether or not that breast would develop breast cancer within 5 years.
The only “innovation” here is feeding full view mammograms to a ResNet18(2016 model). The traditional risk factors regression is nothing special (barely machine learning). They don’t go in depth about how they combine the two for the hybrid model, so it’s probably safe to assume it is something simple (merely combining the results, so nothing special in the training step)
- Comment on Breast Cancer 3 months ago:
Using AI for anomaly detection is nothing new though. Haven’t read the article (and I doubt it’s going to be that technical) but usually this uses a completely different technique than the AI that comes to mind when people think of AI these days.

Valorant kernel level driver managed to fuck up my whole system every few updates though. It’s managed to freeze my whole pc 2 times, cause a BSoD 3 times… And that’s only talking about last week.
Almost as if running unstable software designed to be intrusive to other programs on a kernel level was not a great idea. But hey less cheaters right??? Oh wait no, turns out it still doesn’t stop cheaters.
