My commentary was that 4th of July this year felt more like a going away party.

I’m losing track, but don’t they usually go good, bad, good, bad?
98 good, m.e. bad, xp good, vista bad, 7 good, 8 bad, 10 good, 11 bad, so maybe 12 good?
Obviously I’m over simplifying and I skipped over 2000. But at least since 98 I feel like the trend has been pretty reliable.

lickspittle (plural lickspittles)
- A fawning toady; a base sycophant.
Synonyms: brown noser, flatterer, sycophant, toady
- (by extension) The practice of giving empty flattery for personal gain.

I’m more commenting on the sexual abusers, pedophiles, and unscrupulous, closeted, hypocritical, gay men in the GOP. Trunp seems to get all the attention he wants, sexual or otherwise, ethics be damned.
- Comment on optimizing 4 weeks ago:
If you’re unconcerned with morals or ethics it’s hard to argue against being a Republican lickspittle.

I’m not a huge Biden fan by any means but I would argue he conquered his limitations where as Trump is defined by his.
The difference between persuasion and force. Or on the other end of the spectrum, the difference between mere arrogance and unabashed malice.

Well in the original saying it three times again puts him back in the model. So really, looking at it, t looks like they summoned him and put him back a couple time. He would currently be summoned and 2 more away from being put back.

Probably irrelevant, but if you were to make an omelette, it would be nearly impossible not to break a few eggs. I struggle to see how this would be pertinent though.
- Comment on Welp. 3 months ago:
Living somewhere else is quite tempting in a grass is greener way, but it feels like moving out of my house because of pests. What I’d really rather do is eradicate the pests and get my home back. Even if I move, how long until I have to suffer new pests? Meanwhile the more sane of the two completely out of touch parties that compromise my government are like my housemate, and they keep leaving food wrappers and shit all over the place and they refuse to call an exterminator because it would be “cruel”. But these no-kill traps ain’t doing shit. Figuratively speaking, of course.
- Comment on The White House says it ‘will determine’ which news outlets cover Trump, rotating traditional ones 4 months ago:
Well he’s captured the judicial, the legislative, and the executive, already. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised that the next target is the forth branch/estate. What could possibly go wrong by allowing someone to hand select their own oversight/accountability? Republicans sure seem unconcerned about the unilateral consolidation of unchecked power by one man. Isn’t opposition to tyranny supposed to be, like, our entire raison d’être?

Amusingly, I left a comment abouy hours ago that sort of applies to this photo. Someone compared the behavior of republicans to toddlers, to which I replied:
Toddlers eventually learn though, and progress. Trumpy people a more like dogs: They can appear clever, but only up to a certain threshold. They may even perform useful tasks and tricks for their handlers. But ultimately they need someone to feed and supervise them otherwise they’ll eat something they shouldn’t and get sick. That same contented trot, and look of purpose you see on a dogs face while their owner walks them is what a republican gets when they’re getting walked by fascists. Both the dog and the republican think they’re part of a pack. Both the dog and the republican will be euthanized by their masters when they become too burdensome or they’ve outlived their usefulness.

Historically I still “lose” these types of arguments as my willfully ignorant interlocutor spams potential strawman and ad hominem “arguments” until they feel sufficiently convinced that my pesky facts and I are safe to ignore.
In my experience there are very few people worth arguing with, as there are very few people willing to argue in good faith. Most people see arguing as a battle to be won or lost rather than a mechanism by which to vet assumptions. How can you expect to argue with a person who is unable to argue with themselves?

- Comment on What is the purpose of this plastic piece? 9 months ago:
I’m going to disagree with most of these comments. They don’t protect the prong so much as they protect the cord or other objects in the cords vicinity (painted surfaces, fragile surfaces, etc). The little plastic cap that covers tire stems on cars and bikes , while keeping it clean when installed, are primary to prevent chaffing issue on the inner tube whike shipped and stored; same thing with this prong shroud. They have holes in them as to not retain moisture I imagine.
Long story short, the prongs are metal and have corners. They are the strongest, “sharpest” thing in the box. The plastic isn’t protecting the prongs from us, it’s protecting us from the prongs.
- Comment on Seriously, what the f*** is keeping Donald Trump in this presidential race? 9 months ago:
It’s a race between junk food vs. an actual meal. Junk food is easy and self indulgent, real food requires time and effort. It doesn’t matter that junk food is a terrible value and lacks any nutrition. The Trump people choose junk, conservatives choose Trump people because the Trump people are mathematically mandatory to maintain their caste.

Ah, interesting. That sounds pretty negligible, feature wise. Might be fun on a racing game or something I suppose.
- Comment on How to decide what kind of controller one should purchase? 9 months ago:
I recommend going to a pawn shop. They likely have a variety of late model controllers. You can then hold them and see which speaks to you. I bought a ps5 controller from a pawn shop for like $50 over a year ago and I’ve loved it. I use it over Bluetooth with steam and I get rumble and all that.
