- Comment on Top D&D designers join Critical Role after quitting Wizards of the Coast 1 day ago:
WotC+D&D is like ~30-40% of Hasbro. The only other brand they have that’s worth a similar amount is (ironically enough lmao) Monopoly.

Full screen pop up ad after 5 seconds delay? Clickbait ass title? Newsweek is such a joke of a website now lmfao. Their business feels like it’s actually just one dude, 30 aliases, and an LLM subscription at this point.

Not at all, a magazine is basically a computer but with faster data access speeds while sacrificing some read/write capabilities.
- Comment on The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people? 3 weeks ago:
Because the public school funding comes from public taxpayer money. This means the school does not get to choose how to spend it since the money belongs to the people. The people have voted and greenlit several pre-approved items for schools to spend money on, but anything outside of that needs to be approved by a vote.
Getting people to vote on this item is a Heraclean effort to say the least. Education budget often is the least immediately impactful thing on the ballot, if it makes it that far. Especially in states with strong traditional religious areas. For example, Puritans don’t believe that sports are something that kids should take seriously cuz it’s a game (literally something along the lines of: Games can be pleasurable, seeking pleasure is sin you should only seek God, therefore games are sinful). They don’t want their taxes going towards such sinful programs so they will always vote against it. This perspective is rooted in zealous obedience and is not something other people are willing to fight against.
TL;Dr It’s easier for schools to just get private funding themselves and sidestep the public budget restrictions, than it is to get a majority in the voting pool to approve the vote and implement new school budget item.

- Comment on Nathan Fielder Created a Fake Singing Competition for ‘The Rehearsal.’ One Contestant Lost $10,000 and Feels Betrayed: ‘I Signed Up to Be a Singer, Not a Lab Rat’ 5 weeks ago:
She signed up to be part of a singing contest. She sang, in the contest. Reading the article, there didn’t seem to be any issues until she found out that her segment wasn’t going to be in the final production 🤔🧐🤔.
She also should’ve figured out travel reimbursement BEFORE paying for travel. You have to figure that stuff out or else accounting WILL take the chance to suddenly change their mind about the rental car they originally provided. This is just one of the unfortunate realities of our current human civilization. You have to confirm first, or you’ll be screwed later. - Comment on OS-busting bug so bad that Microsoft blocks Windows Insider release 5 weeks ago:
Inb4 this mystery bug is just about how it was too easy for users to disable some brand new data harvesting feature that scans anything plugged/connected and logs its data in hidden file on your one drive safely and securly in the hands of the Microsoft corporation.
- Comment on Google AdSense Won't Let You Block Video Games Ads 1 month ago:
In the same article it says that there are two other categories for games, so this is actually just cleaning up things and is a rare debloating effort by Google.
Once again, tabloid journalists continue to prove exactly how much their work is worth and what type of value they bring to society.

- Comment on Why Chrome only? 2 months ago:
To build off this comment; it’s likely the result of careless design. It is possible to code applications to avoid this issue, but it is technically a Firefox specific issues so it’s not something a mobile developer would default to consider.

The difference is that primarily one of these parties will possibly suffer the consequences of both social perception and legal action while the other will not. If all possible attempts to advance or approach carry disproportionate amounts of risk, then it is foolish to knowingly progress without an obvious opportunity.
- Comment on Is it better to leave a country, or stay behind to fight for it? And what about the ethics of fleeing instead of staying behind? 2 months ago:
Don’t run away unless it makes you stronger because of it. Once something has been gained, never yield it without a purpose or a strategy - even if that ends up being a bad decision it was at least yours to make.
It is a difficult endeavor to gain new ground; it is nigh impossible to fully recover that which has been lost.
After you have ceded all your land and yielded every advantage, where will you seek shelter and from what will you find strength?
- Comment on Anon wants to watch an anime 3 months ago:
There is not really a concept of a “true beginning” in this type of mathematics. The beginning is defined to be wherever you start.
Where does a circle start and end? Every point on a circle is both the beginning and the end of that circle. The math of permutations and combinatorials are closely related to the geometry of circles and because of that they take on a lot of similar properties. Another way to phase this question is “If I have a set of beads that are all the same size but different colors, and I want to chain multiple beads of different colors together using specific limited pallets of colors to make bracelets, what is the bracelet with the smallest size where after one rotation around the bracelet I will have seen every possible combination of the set of colors used in the pallet for that bracelet.” If that sounds confusing, it’s because it is.

- Comment on Why do i see so many americans obsessed with the concept of "this is a thing that [Ethnicity] does" 3 months ago:
Since you believe this stems from your personal perceptions and observations, the answer likely involves a paradigm shift that random people on the internet can’t realistically assist with beyond basic advice. Whenever I’m stuck on a problem and I don’t know where to go, a good place to start is collect more data and widen your research. Good luck o7.

- Comment on Anon cheats through college 4 months ago:
It is, because you now have the title on your resume and can just lie about getting fired. You just need one company to not call a previous employer or do a half hearted background check. Someone will eventually fail and hire you by accident, so this strategy can be repeated ad infinitum.
- Comment on It's a good group! 4 months ago:
I will never understand how they made the entire movie and then had any possible thought people would understand their perspective. The problem is they got lost in the utopia part of the fascist utopia. Sure their culture looks weird from our perspective and has a fascist paint job., but is it really that bad of a society to live in as depicted? Everyone is depicted as generally agreeing with society and it’s norms, society seems to filter people into the roles that actually let them reach the best of their own abilities and that of the culture. No semblance or poverty or even elitism – except against bugs which are mindless as far as the audience knows. The closest we get to seeing that the bugs might be sentient is a psychic dude telling us that a prisoner of war is feeling fear while it is bound, defeated, and surrounded by its enemies.
