  One of my fave wallpaper engine wallpapers and terminally disappointed i never got it working in Linux. Gimme a min I’ll find it and drop a workshop link.

  But our rock isn’t floating, it’s falling constantly towards the sun with only its lateral velocity preventing it from hitting the star. It’s not floating like it’s suspended, if the planet ever stopped it would rapidly plunge to its doom.

    Well, it’s floating very quickly sideways. As it was said in The Expanse, you can’t really ever stop in space, you can just match orbits with something else
