Oh! I was already wondering why my landlord keeps asking for rent, even though I already told him that I closed 12 high-prio tickets this week…
surprised they have employees and not just agents

Mmmmh yes, I sure love it when the supermarket accepts my passion and love for pushing the envelope and moving humanity forward through tech to pay my groceries. Add to that the banks who pay my debt for me as long as I aim to improve human health through data-driven approaches and AI, leveraging today’s technology for tomorrow’s challenges. Anyone else?

Tgat is a rwal change, that of course nobody will take the right lessons from.
Ai companies began with saying they want to help people while making dure the software is not possing any danger. People that agreed joined the company with lower income than they woukd have gotten elsewhere because they wanted to have a positive impact.
Now it is clear that there real goal is to make as much money as possible with ai, indifferent to anything else. Still, people will join agreeing with this philosophy. But if the philosophy you are subscribing to is making money than you will never accept less for this mission

Yeah I don’t believe that. We all knew AI was a giant fucking bubble the entire time. You want to tell me the software developers themselves were somehow oblivious? … OK, that theoretically possible.

You sound like the Anthropic CEO.
Any one who joined the company did so for a paycheck, or stock options. That’s it.

The S in CEO stands for sincerity.
He just foresees the need to fire a bunch of people (just as the market starts to get nervous about AI stocks) and he has already decided who it’s gonna be.
