And I don’t understand how people fear the less jobs thing. If you have to fear losing your job then your society is fucked and you should consider eating the rich instead.

This is how the system is designed and it is working perfectly for the rich. If you’re not scared that some “poor schmuck” will take your job with a lot less pay and a smile, then you wouldn’t be an obedient slave they want you to be. Add to that the fear of losing your healthcare and you have a very obedient class of peasants.
