If a space Alien landed in the states. And hooked up with one of his or her fellow travelers and had a kid in the US would that kid be a US citizen? Or do we have something in place for it?

It depends on how you (or the Supreme Court) defines “persons”.

They might technically have to become corporations.

No, the laws governing citizenship only apply to human beings.

Technically they apply to Persons, Persons hasn’t been tested against an extra-terrestrial Alien in court yet. I would suspect that it would apply if they are intelligent enough to travel to earth to be quite honest.

Morelike they considered people would attempt to give their dog citizenship.

Or do we have something in place for it?

A free stay at a government research facility for the entire family.

I was just watching THe Incredible Mr. Limpet last night. Don Knotts turns into a fish and tries to help the US Navy find Nazi submarines. They spend the first bit of their exhcnages trying to kill or trap him, which absolutely tracks.

My dog was born in the US and I’m pretty certain he isn’t considered a citizen. There are billions (if not trillions) of individuals born in the US every year who aren’t citizens because they aren’t humans.

That’s exactly how Kang and Kudos took over politics.

Depends if it came in on an Epstein Visa or not.

I love the term ‘space alien’. I think that’s how aliens would like to be called.

Since the question of earthly citizenship comes first, i don’t think american citizenship would even be considered (de juris citizenship ((birthright citizenship)) applies only to humans i think, anyway, so alien would be comsidered an animal for the purposes of not filing paperwork on it)

Does Earth have de juris citizenship? For all species in general i don’t think anyone has written that it does, but i bet the UN woild support considering that Space Alien to be the first of its species native to Earth.

However, the alien species might not even have a concept themselves of de juris citizenship and may only care about bloodline.
