Someone needs to call a telephone sanitizer.
This phone in the stock room was so filthy someone put a clean grip on it so you wouldn't have to touch it

Those squares are switches. Commonly use in Germany for light switches. I’d guess they might be buzzers for an apartment lobby, hence the phone with no number pad.

Yep, sure enough have seen this before. Way back before cell phones existed, this is what we had to do to put a phone on vibrate.
