I personally do, he actually risked his life to release information about the government spying on people. And there are for sure more advanced ways now. Even your phone is listening.

Chealsea Manning leaked the “collateral Murder” videos during the Iraq war and had her sentence commuted by Obama. She remains a political activist and, according to Wikipedia, a DJ.

Okay but a doctor is a profession. You could have a heroic doctor but nobody’s full time job is ‘hero’. A hero is a term that’s useful in a novel but some people wanna cosplay the role and that eventually becomes a cult.
