Lotta people not getting paid. Mostly behind the scenes.

Isn’t the point of the tax write off is because they paid them and it’s a loss?
Skullgrid@lemmy.world 7 months ago
If they get a % based on income/profit/whatever they get a % of 0, which is 0.
xkforce@lemmy.world 7 months ago
Either people are getting paid for the work theyve already done or warner bros is going to have a very large lawsuit on their hands and maybe a strike to top it off.

Warner Bros. being Warner Bros. as usual

Will this movie ever be released? Leaked?
LanternEverywhere@kbin.social 7 months ago
Extremely unlikely it'll ever be leaked. Lots and lots of nearly completed movies have been shelved before release, and I'm not aware of a single one that's ever leaked.
jasep@lemmy.world 7 months ago
The movie was finished filming, it’s not a finished movie.

I'm mad that this is the first I'm hearing about this movie at all.

John Cena's Coyote vs. Acme? I kind of understand him being in Ferdinand, but this is just redonkulous.
LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 7 months ago
Now you see him, now you don’t
JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 7 months ago
Damnit. I can’t see it!
MacedWindow@lemmy.world 7 months ago
Not that it would have been the best movie ever, but its frustrating to see so much human effort tossed away.

the batgirl thing was sad and funny, the lead woman had several shots that looked like “that scene was hell to shoot, but it’s going to be worth it when this movie blows up and boosts my career” and the fucking CEO went “lol nope”
hansl@lemmy.world 7 months ago
The real tragedy is the careers those films could have helped. Actors and staff don’t get a tax break for that do they.
The government should get the rights and make those movies freely available. Want a tax break? Don’t vault it, put it in public domain.

Even if it's bad I think it still deserves to be released. If it's actually good, I'll wanna see it, and if it's as bad as they say, I'll REALLY wanna see it.

The weird thing is that the few reviews that have trickled in suggest that it was the best animated film since Roger Rabbit.
kamiheku@sopuli.xyz 7 months ago
Well not exactly, just that the film did the mix of live action and animation better than anything since Roger Rabbit. Still a shame.
Decoy321@lemmy.world 7 months ago
That’s a damn high bar, too. That movie is a freaking classic.
