  Check the modlog on that instance, you can search by username.

    I’ve noticed that the mod log doesn’t seem to actually populate in perfect reverse chronological order. it seems to start making leaps after the first couple dozen entries. does this mean that if I want to be aware of which instances have banned me I should check every instance on which Ive posted everyday?

  I would hope that the mod or admin issues the ban, if not the system itself, would notify the user.

    I host this instance just for myself. I use bans locally to curate my all feed. I don’t really need problematic people getting alerts about what I do.

  Try viewing a federated community from that server (on the instance on which you have an account, like usual) and when the community loads, no content shows up and you get an endless spinner. I can't confirm now, though... I thought an account I have on another instance was banned from .ml/grad for not being pro-Russia or something but they load now, so maybe it was just temporary.
