If I could go back in time I’d train to become a dentist (or a doctor). Teeth are really interesting and it seems like a chill work environment - and teeth are also a bigger deal than most people realise.
Bad breath though 😬
I doubt the bad breath will be enough of a deterrent, not to mention dentists wear masks ^_^ and are paid fairly well. Besides, you’re actually able to tell the patient “hey your breath STINKS! floss and brush more plz” (and get paid for that too!)

Honestly, it ain’t too late to start! Unless your just incapable of doing the work anymore, (like age or health conditions), then why not go for it?
Well i’m currently in uni for engineering, and it takes a LOOOoong time to train in dental or medicine. I could maybe do it via army scholarship but that takes the same amount of time + a commitment to serving on the field. I unfortunately won’t be able to get another student loan unless from a private bank (who i doubt would be convinced to sponsor me) because of how it works in the UK
I was hoping they’d open up apprenticeships for medicine but i think people with more relevant experience (bio-chem a levels) will get all the places. I was considering nursjng apprenticeships too but they seem a bit mystifying to get into - you have to get employment at a hospital beforehand to begin
I’m not really miffed about where i am right now. I want to learn first aid and hopefully a bit about nursing in the army reserves, but in civvie life I’ll probably just stick to engineering roles since the pay-work balance is better.
I only feel like i’d be a doctor if i went back in time because i didn’t interact with medical places at all as a kid or teenager and i find them and all medical processes so fascinating now that I’m an adult. I’m also good with gore and i feel like i understand a decent amount of medical stuff easily.
