Right?!
I was thinking to myself, who would know the most about these socks? What better place than the community that’s all about socks XD
If any mods or experts are reading this, a great idea to make would be a stickied buying guide.

That’s great to hear!
I’m thinking I might go with Sock Dreams for my first pair. I’m looking for something thicker and more sock-like.
I will definitely keep Kixies on hand though for potential future socks (or if I want to get socks for someone else :3)

I do like the idea of rubber grips. Do you feel they rub you or squeeze too hard?
It’s nice to hear how good they make you feel!
Funnily enough, I’m a fairly typical cis person (maybe a little bi in some ways). It’s still cool to see how these communities interact and live. I was raised as a kid to hate anything other than straight and cis, so getting a chance to be involved with these communities is a bit of a new thing for me.
Going to shops like those is no problem for me. The main problem is there aren’t many near where I live.

How do you rate their feel? I like stuff that’s really soft to the touch but not fuzzy. Like a really good t-shirt kinda fabric.
Not sure how I would feel about socks with ribbing though. As long as it’s not a rough texture, I think I would like it.
Do you have recommendations for particular styles or materials from Sock Dreams?

- Comment on Menger cheese = string cheese 3 weeks ago:
Here’s how I think is the best way to word it:
There are really two types of “more holes”
The first is the number of holes. Double the volume of cheese and you double the number of holes.
The second is the density of holes. Say the cheese has 1 hole per cubic inch. Double it to 2 holes per inch and you have twice the empty volume
The first phrase increases the number of holes by merely increasing the volume of cheese.
The second phase increases the number of holes by increasing their density.

I can mostly get it. I would probably have to see examples in practice to fully grasp it.

For someone who sucks at math, would you be able to give a TL;DR on what a geometric sequence is?

Hate the clickbate title. Plus it’s a video so you can’t just skim through an article to find out what it is. Thankfully they put the info on the description so we don’t have to watch it.

Short answer is that they are working on an in depth environment/physical properties simulation system (confirmed by data leaks). Things like temperatures, flash points, coating in liquids, friction, etc.
It’s hard to know exactly how they will all be used, but one can imagine all the interactions between ice, fire, oil, gasoline, wind, and whatever objects you find in the world.

Any chance you can get a picture of it next to an original SP for size comparison?

I can see a handful of benefits to technology like this.
-
You don’t need the owners keys to move the vehicle. Thus you can retrieve or even rearrange vehicles at any time.
-
Better for the environment. You reduce unnecessary gas usage since the bots use electricity.
-
Can be used indoors. No gas means no fumes which means parking garages wouldn’t need expensive ventilation systems to remove the CO2 gasses
-
Better mobility. These can turn on a dime and move sideways. That means a parking garage that fits more cars and takes up a smaller footprint.
-
Potentially safer for the cars. This one rides on them actually perfecting the technology, but the bots could eliminate the risk of car damages due to human error.
Granted, I see this less as a technology for rich snobs and more as a thing for packed cities or huge businesses.

- Comment on Splitting Hairs, Splitting Atoms 2 months ago:
This is just what I’ve heard a long time ago so don’t quote me lol. But no, splitting a single atom shouldn’t do anything of note. I believe it’s the same general reason that a nuke doesn’t set the entire atmosphere on fire - you need a lot of energy to split atoms. That’s why nukes need enriched materials.
I also believe that even a nuclear explosion won’t be triggered by a single split atom in a bomb. For example, the Manhattan Project bomb was triggered by shaped explosives that surrounded the nuclear core. The blast of the charges “compressed” the nuclear material to the point it reached a critical mass that allowed a runaway fission reaction.

Fun little science fact: Heated objects glow the same colors no matter what they are made of. It’s called Black Body Radiation. The color chart shows what temperatures correspond with various “colors” of glow.
- Comment on Engineers Discovered the Spectacular Secret to Making 17x Stronger Cement 3 months ago:
In a new study from Princeton University, scientists turned toward the humble oyster and its iridescent composite material nacre for design inspiration.
Matching the characteristics of nacre at the microscopic level, the researchers were able to increase the toughness of cement some 17 times, as compared to a cement block on its own.

It’s called micro b superspeed. It’s basically micro-b with an optional extra connector to reach USB 3.0 speeds. Unless the device needs the extra power rail (like a 2.5" HDD), then you can still use a regular micro b cable to get USB 2.0 speeds.

Also, it turns out Coatimundi are a type of mammal most common to North and South America. They are related to raccoons:

I’m guessing that’s a pop-up version? Like a good truck but longer term. Maybe they are there for a large term event or business. My brain’s thinking of stuff like the pop-up towns that appear near mines or big businesses that have thousands of employees.
Granted, it could just be a hella jank McDonald’s lol.
