Though hopefully they are only falling out of love with big tech social media, as I’d love to see the Fediverse thrive.

I never post anything on Facebook and haven’t for years. I only keep it for the local community page, otherwise I’d bin it off

Every now and again I go back to Facebook to see what my more distant friends are doing. I spend about 10 minutes trying to fiddle with my ublock filters trying to hide all the algorithmic content and then give up.
I have private chat groups for various circles of friends and that’s a lot more useful for sharing stuff. We’ll see if they will be persuaded to Signal when the ads start appearing.

And the local community page is mostly filled with fear mongering, right wing propaganda and bot posts, right?

Nah, its mundane. Generally community notices and things for sale. Sometimes it’ll be a heads up about suspicious people checking door handles or something

I keep it for Messenger and because sometimes I need to flog my old shit on Marketplace. But yeah, I’ve not posted on there regularly since 2019.
Meanwhile, I’m almost always on Mastodon and Lemmy.

Yeah, I use it for Marketplace and a wargaming group I admin. Its original use case for me is long gone.

I stopped using it in 2018. Never looked back.
