Imagine thinking replacing workers with AI is what’s going to demolish the economy, rather than the circular reinvestment of trillions of dollars in ludicrously unprofitable companies to build the AI.

Or a war. That’s also hurting.

All this doom about AI in media is just to reinforce the hype that AI will be actually useful to attract investors.

Amazon laying off thousands was not because of AI efficiency, it was because of a tanking economy and over hiring 5 years ago during lockdowns.

Tariffs will kill many more jobs than AI.

I wonder if A.I.-driven mass unemployment will be balanced by lower birth rates and In America lack of proper healthcare.

For most of America this is meaningless since this “shock” is coming from a stock market that has been detached from average American wealth for a generation. Stocks and speculative markets like it are a way for the rich to get richer and now it turns out that the music is stopping and there aren’t enough chairs for all the bag holders. Some rich folks are going to lose it all and become regular and broke like the rest of us.

They’ll forgive the lying, the kid fucking, the self enrichment, the treason, etc, but they will not forgive high gas prices!

I don’t think we’ll just stop Americaning if things get more expensive. We’ll stop everything else though.
