Why are police such cowards?

WDYM? What do you want them to do?
lmdnw@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Not falsely claim that the sign is antisemitic and confiscate it. I’m surprised I had to spell that out for you but I’ll refrain from making any ableist insult.
GreenBeanMachine@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
If I wanted to speak to you I would.
Well, HE’S SPEAKING TO YOU! What a fucking power tripping cunt. You are paid by the public and you are here to serve the public, why can’t you answer a simple question? Is it because you know what you’re doing ia wrong?
ACAB.

They should have started holding the sign together. Then they’d have to talk to him as well. If the cops wanna get obtusely technical, get obtusely technical back.
I hate how the cop reiterated that they ‘have rights’, but… ‘shut the hell up…’ paraphrasing of course.
Really feels like we’ve got our priorities straight this year. /s

While I agree, cops will only deal with one person at a time.
Swemg@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Don’t they have anything useful to do instead of this? ><

I don’t think inviting a kid to forcefully defy/hate like that was the right thing to do. The invitation to tread on the face as a sign of defiance/hate or whatever it was, was probably a poor choice in the moment.
I think its wrapped up in the problems with dehumanisation of enemies, that tends to breed generational circles of violence.

What event were they at?
If it was a Jewish thing then yeah, the sign is just antagonism.
There’s plenty of places to express your views on jews, Israeli’s and Gaza.
An event hosted by the jewish community intended to try to ease tensions and rebuild cohesion after a terrorist attack directed at them isn’t an appropriate one.

An event hosted by an explicitly-zionist (and therefore pro-genocide) organisation is always the appropriate place for protest against Israel’s genocide. No matter what they ostensibly claim the purpose of that event is.

I think it is a Ramadan evening event from the text in the top left and the attending crowd.
Besides that, an event being Jewish does not automatically make it immune from Israel criticism. Sadly many Jewish events are heavily involved with Zionism and propaganda for the IDF. It would need to be judged on a case by case basis.

Failed to load media. Just me? All good, I saw it when it was posted elsewhere.

What’s your DNS provider? Catbox is blocked by some Aussie ISPs at the DNS level, which could be the problem.

Catbox is blocked by some Aussie ISPs at the DNS level,
What!? Why? Are our ISPs making their own choices of blocklists now?

He’s literally wanted by the ICC!
IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Ah but the ICC is antisemitic too.
makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml 2 weeks ago
I mean. That’s surely the end of the argument. He’s an international criminal. Literally that.
