This is my first shave with Stirling’s Bay Rum. It has a good medium strength scent, stronger than other Stirling soaps.
Have a good one!

Used the Simpsons Bay Rum shave cream, hadn’t used it for a loong time. It’s got a nice scent. The Astra on its 4th use was very smooth. Good shave all in all.
Have a good one, ladies and gents!

Do you usually only use a blade for 4 uses?
How is the performance of that Simpson shave cream?

I don’t actually know how many times I use a blade. Might be between two and four times. Some people put the blade back into the wrapper and put a little dot on the wrapper, but I can’t be bothered. I’d say I use a blade three times on average.
The Simpson says “Ultimate Glide” on the tub, but on the forums (Reddit) people say that the slickness is just about average. And I think I have to agree with them, I don’t feel any residual slickness. Maybe I’m lathering it wrong, I don’t know. But it lathers well and smells good. Also it’s easily applied on the face using fingers, because it literally is a shave cream in a tub (not runny, but very soft). Plus it’s relatively cheap.
Good shaves to you!
