I was fired from my last job for making my boss “uncomfortable” by opening up about some mental health stuff I was going through. I also wasn’t afraid to point out when something being asked of me wasn’t my job so there was more to it. Anyways Im still friends with the secretary there. I went to pick her up one evening to grab dinner and my old boss saw me, turned ghost white and literally ran into her office to hide till i left. IDK what she thinks im going to do, but it is entertaining watch her cower like that.
Ever go back to your old job just to visit friends and see THIS?

It’s true. I have had a good number of jobs, I come, work on things, make improvements, then move on when I’ve grown or they are in a better spot. I honestly thought I was the guy coming in to help fix things and then move on once things are stable.
Instead, I have created a series of opportunities for them to blame the last guy to leave.
No matter how good of a job you do, unless you are there to remind folks, they will forget and use the easy scapegoat. I’m still very popular with the folks I worked with on the ground, but management types are primarily after someone else to blame…

Why in god’s name would I go back to an old job socially?

The three times I’ve been back to a old job location they were pleased I came back and fixed some screw up they made with the systems there. They may have hated to do it but they were glad I did. Otherwise why would I ever go back to one of them?

I always thought about what it would be like to work at the unemployment office… Get fired… Next day you have to go back and be like “good morning Sheila, can I get a copy of form 2431-b please?”
