Apparently they look like regular people. Also Monster apparently has terrible cyber security.
If you ask me, this was the most appalling part of the article.
Who the fuck sits down and writes these?
No, no one wants to go to Walmart’s meetings. But Walmart has a lot of weight to throw around in retail, so if you want them to stock your products you have to glaze them.
I get that, but surely even the Walmart side of folks would have to see this as a bother rather than anything else…right?
I just can’t wrap my head around it. I suppose that if such a person exists who would actually feel passion and enthusiasm about Walmart retail zoom meetings, my line of work would be just as bewildering to them.
I once looked on a Monster can for an expiration date. I couldn’t find one.
Did you know that there are only two major canning companies in the US and the one that canned your Monster is likely to just be whichever had a facility closer to you? Did you know there are rivalries? Apparently Rexam is considered the cheaper and lower quality one. (And sadly the one nearest me when I learned all of this!)
This tool looks like it could be moderately entertaining for a few minutes, though it seems at the moment it only supports Pepsi products and I don’t have any sodas nearby anyway.
Note: I learned all of the above fun facts from an askreddit comment; not only that, but it was well over a decade ago. At the time I drank a lot of Monster and what the post said seemed to match up with what was on the can from which I was drinking at the time. However, I can’t guarantee it was 100% accurate then and certainly not now, many years later.
“Monster Green shoppers are likely younger (Gen-Z/Millennial/Gen-X) male, lower income & Caucasian (skews Hispanic).”
Are you suggesting they don’t know their market?

That’s not what their average consumer looks like?

I mean it’s what I think of when I think of someone drinking that stuff. It also makes sense that those are the people they market to.

Yeah maybe a little stereotypical but not anything to write an article about
