Check out The Promised Land (2023) with Mads Mikkelsen. It’s gut-punch tour de force, and it will stay with you long after you are done watching.

It’s definitely the children. Movies these days suck. Prey is one very notable exception.
Like, what will pop culture references look like in 10-20 years? What content has been so memorable and impactful on society in the last 10 years that it will be worth referencing, or that audiences of the future will even remember?

This actually has surprisingly good writing and character development, until it fell into the usual trap of an overblown, cliche, and boring 30 minute final battle

They blacklisted my bank account and wouldn’t allow me to add another. So I paid off my devices and switched to Mint mobile. I’m saving $150 a month. And my coverage is better.

Same for Verizon. Or if your bank account doesn’t have enough funds. Or even if it does, and your bank says the transaction never happened, as long as Verizon says it happened, they charge you a fee.

And if your practical effects are good enough, you don’t need CGI at all. Look how the CGI in The Thing remake absolutely fucked up their beatiful puppet monsters, so that everything looks so off that it destroyed willing suspension of disbelief.

Dude. Make some sick models and puppets, on the cheap. You killed it with Aliens; time to return to your roots, or get out of the game.
