Onerous: (of a task, duty, or responsibility) involving an amount of effort and difficulty that is oppressively burdensome.
It was too hard to give the voters what 58% voted for, 1 week of mandatory vacation a year, so they didn’t. Fuck you poors.

Gotta love when one guy can just deny the will of the people.
Not just one guy. It was a legislative majority in both houses.
We call that democracy.

Obviously, the voters didn’t really understand what they’d voted for and they needed the brave, brilliant, business-friendly leaders in the state capital to reverse it for them.
Incidentally, all these assholes will coast to victory in the 2026 election season, because the opposition party will be too afraid of alienating mega-donors to make “Guaranteed Paid Sick Leave” the centerpiece of their campaign.
Whenever I hear of news out of Missouri it’s another reason why I wouldn’t want to be in Missouri.
It was 1 hour per 30 hours of work. That’s a half day per month. 1 day per 2 months, 6 days a year (for part timers it gets around the 32 hours totally isn’t a full week loophole). Not vacation, but sick time.
I had the flu this year. I was down for over a week. If I worked for a shitty part-time job in Missouri I’d have to decide between going unpaid for a week (and probably pissing off my jr supervisor with the management skills of a tomato) or going in sick and getting everyone else sick (also somehow pissing off the produce-quality supervisor)
What’s the governor’s sick leave? I bet he gets more than 6 days a year. Shameful he overturned his own voters - and worse they’ll probably still vote him in again.
This is what gets me. They just keep voting the same people in. It’s happened so many times and people wonder why the state is shit.
Have you in the last 3 years seen an image of people in suits signing something and the title is good news?
Missouri: votes for nice things
Also Missouri: votes Republicans
Sucks to suck.

Look at that. Republicans doing only what hurts Americans.
It’s almost like they are enemies of the people of the United States of America.
But hey, at least they’re stance on Palestine is better than the other team’s stance…right? Right?
