I’ve seen this behavior for the last 20 years. Every release of Windows claims it’s the fastest yet. And in 3-5 years everybody hates how slow they and demand new computers. Its funny because, it’s just accepted. Everybody assumes that computers get old and slow. I’m just going to go out on a limb and say, Windows OS gets slow after 3-5 years and it’s planned obsolescence from Microsoft. Sadly, 90% of users can’t be bothered to care that they’re getting ripped off.

On the Windows platform, Valve has to do what Microsoft decides. If Microsoft decides all apps are required to go through the Microsoft store app then Valve would be toast.

Lol, my dumb computer is running DDR3 / no TPM, it’s super old. I have been waiting for video cards to get better/cheaper. I’m totally down with not the fastest. If it plays 90% of my games, costs less than $600. I just read that it’s six times more powerful than the Steam Deck. The Steam Deck can run Cyberpunk 2077, so this will do just fine. Another thing that I really like is that Valve is verifying games for their hardware. The games it can’t run, I guess I won’t play. I’m sold!

I was hesitant about upgrading my ancient computer because I didn’t want to spend $1,200 - $2000 on a new setup. This looks like a great option.

I thought I fooled the fridge makers. I bought a model without filtered water. Sadly, I didn’t realize that the ice cubes require a filter. 😔
