"I thought if we could go on during a global pandemic, and everything that the world experienced through 2020, why would this sideline us?" she said in a new video statement posted to her Instagram Friday.
Using other workers on her production staff as human shield for her own profit is especially disgusting. Shame on her.

Drew Barrymore and Bill Maher are both down from the height of their popularity, and I suspect they're afraid they'll lose more influence (and eventually their shows) as the strike goes on.

Well, I think this will get them both attention now. The right has been giving Bill Maher attention for awhile now and likely will continue to do so, but that's for political reasons.
The consequences will truly hit when the strike is over and they're iced out of the unions, missing out on other Hollywood opportunities. I suspect that will affect Drew far more than Bill.

I think that might be the point. If their audiences were waning, this is probably their gamble at a last hurrah. A last ditch attempt to pull in an audience before they’re shuffled off into celebrity podcast purgatory.
