It’s the killdeer! We get returning birds across the road every year. Silly little running cotton balls with rock colored eggs in gravel nests, and they just had babies.

I love killdeer. We get them in the parking lot at work every year.

Federal prosecution is paradise compared to what the birding photographers would do to anyone trying to move that nest. That grandma with a $20k lens around her neck will dox and depose you into homelessness for so much as sneezing too close to a nest.
Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 6 days ago
Maybe, but the homeless crackhead shambling through the lot at 3am like a zombie doesn’t give a fuck and will kick that thing as hard as he can muster.
Move it anyway; at least it will have a chance instead of painting a massive target on it with those cones.

why would you immediately jump to that made up scenario? do you just hate homeless people and go around shoehorning that into every discussion you can?

Hey, I’m not a grandma yet!

Are people with $20K lenses excited about kildeer?
I spent a couple weeks at a Southwest Pennsylvania RV park that had kildeer running around all through the greensward in the middle of it. Was I seeing something more remarkable than the usual run of things?
