The Fast and Furious star teased the Guardians of the Galaxy project, and many others, on his Instagram.
As I understand it, Groot has complete and complex thoughts and emotions but only three words with which to express them.
I can imagine a movie in which we’re hearing his thoughts rather than his words. It could be interesting, particularly if another actor voices his thoughts.
Groot’s race, being plant-based, communicates through pheromones and infrasound IIRC. Rocket understands him after a fashion because he’s a raccoon, and thus can both smell the pheromones and hear the infrasound.

Perhaps. If the purpose of making the movie is just to make Vin Diesel happy, then they shouldn’t make the movie.

Either this will be annoying as hell, and we all get tired of “I am Groot” or this could be amazing with a wall-e style low dialog movie.
Or they marvel it up with an unnecessary side character that never stops talking.
