Tesla still got a bunch of scientific cred, more than Edison actually. Edison is known as the inventor of a consumer product, Tesla got the unit of magnetic flux named after him.
Yeah, but Einstein got it on with Marilyn Monroe^1^.

Reminds me of poorly designed MMOs, when everybody is fighting hard to bring down a tough monster…and the player who pokes it for the last 5 damage gets all the EXP and loot!
