That was hard to watch. I must be old, or that was super cringey. Or both, probably both.

I think maybe it’s so self-consciously cringe it’s actually based? Payman has quite a lot of good will banked with me, though, so I may be biased.
I agree, thought it was pretty funny. The Senate is filled with weird publicity stunts.
Nah that’s definitely how I took this too.
lol
Honestly was expecting worse, too bad she’ll likely be dismissed over it, but then again I’m not Australian so idk.
Na, she’s already a cross-bencher. Another ~4 years on her term. She’d have to do something pretty drastic to even get censured.
And when you’ve got kooky ol’Malcolm Roberts next to her sounding like he’s about as high as the ISS everytime he stands to speak, i think Payman will be fine.

It might seem crazy but, I can’t complain about a politician trying to represent and speak to young Australians. I got a good laugh out of the speech despite not knowing what she was talking about

I mean for the most part you don’t really need to know gen z slang to follow it. And I’m not 100% certain she’s even using it correctly. I don’t know what “gyat” means, but I doubt it’s actually a stand-in for “goods” in the term “goods and services tax”.

I’m gen z so maybe it’s embarrasing that I’ve got no understanding of this slang

I thought it meant “butt”, like in that brainrot song “sticking out your gyatt for the rizzler”.

If you have a gyat you indeed have the goods, and you are serving, but you should not be faunum taxed for it.
