  The syntax is [@andrewta@lemmy.world](https://lemmy.world/u/andrewta). It’s more complicated because fediverse. But like Facebook, my client automatically populates it for me (as soon as I type @andr it popped up as an option)

      It’s just to avoid it doing exactly what yours did which makes lots of clients turn it into a mailto.
