What’s hotter? A 90°C CPU at 120W or a 80°C CPU at 270W?
Comment on its not just me

I’m gonna start by saying I love AMD so this isn’t a jab at them, but i always thought AMD ran hotter.

Which do you think will land first if thrown from the top of a tall building - a box with a ton of solid iron, or box with a ton of light fluffy fleathers?

But…iron is heavier than feathers…

Should be the same since both are in a box

I think there’s been a switch over the past few years.

It goes back and forth. AMD Athlon 64 architecture was SOOOO much more power efficient and cooler than the Pentium line… then Intel came out swingin with the much faster and more efficient “Core” line. Through the i-series, they ran cooler and outperformed AMD, until about the second Ryzen generation. The top end i9s models still outperformed AMD’s high end (slightly) until the a few generations back, and now I THINK (don’t quote me on this) the top end AMD 3D processors outperform anything Intel has to offer.

Not since Ryzen came out, bulldozer could heat an entire city block tho
