My Spotify wrapped has been disappointing me over the past few years. I used to have such an eclectic music taste, but getting older Iâm listening to whatâs familiar to me a bit too much. I donât like the complacency.
Going to spend the next few weeks saving some new music to listen over the holidays, and listening to albums Iâve saved over the year but never bothered to listen. Currently listening to Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk, for fans of synth-pop and prog-rock this one is for you.
Ahaha, mine is out of control.
Top songs were all songs in English by non-English artists: Thai, Cambodian, Taiwanese and Korean.
My top artists were: TanerĂŠlle, Limi, WIM, Sleep Token and Keshi. đ¤Ł
I forgot I listened to so much TanerĂŠlle this year.
But I listen to such a wide variety, itâs not really a surprise.
IMO Wrapped doesnât really handle eclectic tastes really well. Makes the results seem super random.

Mine was all Käärijä and Chappell Roan đ I think I will also have to expand my listening and see what pops up next year lol!
Now thatâs eclectic! I was expecting Chappell in my top 5, but no. I swear I thrashed her album this year.
My partner is seriously obsessed with her đ and so am I!
Every song is a banger, and I fucking love that I can tell what her musical inspirations are in each song.

Discover weekly and the radio channels (where you click the radio button based on a specific song and it plays more songs like it) are how I find a lot of new music
I put it on as background noise while Iâm doing other things and if I start bobbing my head, I probably like a song

Spotify recommends stuff you already play so thatâs why I ask the DT for new stuff. The only new artist that I really really like is Dua Lipa.

Um like her whole album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
I canât really pick an absolute favourite, the whole album is just an experience. A Femininomenon, so to speak đ start at the start and enjoy!
