I had the chance to be taken back to the op shop because there was a Led Zeppelin shirt I didnât grab. You snooze you lose, probably snapped up 30 seconds after I left by a reseller.
But I did get some Buffy dvds and some art books. I went a little ham because things are getting scrubbed from the internet and Iâm rediscovering the importance of physical media.

Pirate everything. For books:
Libgen.is
For everything else check out the megathread at reddit.com/r/piracy
I would love to pirate but would suffer undue anxiety about it and would be hit quite hard if my internet provider cut me off. I know about vpns but donât know which are trustworthy
NordVPN is probably the most trusted. Theyâve been around a long time and have generally positive reviews.
Iâve pirated for years and never been caught. The bigger issue is accessing the torrent websites. But you can set up search in Qbittorrent to search within the program, so you donât even need to go to the dodgy websites
This has been slowly happening for a long time without fanfare. A lot of stuff you used to be able to watch on YouTube is getting more aggressive copystrikes, probably to try and push us onto cable and streaming services.
Also the Internet Archive recently lost a copyright lawsuit that means access to 50, 000 books (and movies?) was lost.
Corporations are getting more aggressive about what gatekeeping what you can access for free and taking stuff down, so a lot of people are advocating for physical backups or copies of anything important to you.
It happens periodically. Streaming services donât hold on to things forever, and even sites like the Internet Archive (which shares free access to books) periodically has to negotiate a changing landscape of access to materials.
We do not own things we get off Netflix, or even off Steam and such. Access can be revoked
Yeah, thatâs why it should be allowed to archive. Infinity Train was wiped off the internet out of spite and there was some stink about people losing music they had purchased. As in purchased under the agreement that they would be able to keep access.
Subscription based services can get fucked. I may not dare pirate but Iâm not afraid to go caveman if I have to
You got me interested about Infinite Train so I looked it up. It makes no sense whatsoever why they would do what they did.
Insane.

Itâs so good. I think sheâs got a slightly tender little tummy still but has started the fortiflora.
Sheâs now willing to eat her food with the regular meds mixed in which is so much less traumatic for both of us.
