I know that they usually don’t do anything, but they’re still scary as fuck. Something their form and equipment not having changed for the last million years or so is just very intimidating

“Usually don’t do anything” is an understatement.
They’re not complex enough to waste energy on non-food object, though. Shark attacks are incredibly rare, and fatalities are less than a rounding error. But humans killing sharks, that is measurable in 9 digits annually.

Yeah its very sad. Also, when the sharks die, the entire eco system dies. Sharks are completely harmless(at least statistically). More people die from coconuts dropping on their heads than from shark attacks. Meanwhile we are actively extinguishing the entire shark population.
