I find most of the sports brands are of a similar mid quality. That is, less durable than they used to be. I remember runners lasting way longer than they currently do. I usually only buy when on sale, that way I feel I’m not getting ripped off for something that won’t last. DFO outlets or sites like Catch often have significant discounts. Spending $300 one off or $100 three times over will work out the same I guess.

Does anyone have reccos for a decent pair of men’s shoes that will last a while? I’ve had my pair of newbalances for a year and a half and the soles are falling apart and I don’t even walk that much. I had a pair of Nike airs for about 3 years until they got irreversibly shrunk in the washer (+ grew out of them), but I’m not looking to go that flashy.
Budget’s around $300 max, but I’m concerned with durability more so than anything else.
(It’s not the 1940s so I don’t care about wearing women’s or unisex shoes either, as long as they come in larger sizes and preferably don’t have sparkles)

I have a pair of asics I like, but I’m a chick. I did go to Athletes Foot (or whatever it’s called) where they had me walk on a scanner thingy to work out the best shoe for the way I walk. I think I spent $250 iirc, and they have lasted me for about 4 years now.
If anything, I’d recommend going to where they have that foot scanner thing, because yeah, my runners are a pair of beasts. Inclement weather, wear and tear, and they still look brand new when I clean them lol

Oh actually I remember why I got NBs now. I went into the athletes foot and they told me to go to footlocker because they didn’t carry shoes wide enough for my feet and newbalances were the best they could recommend. I’ll try again though, maybe asics have released a wide model. Thanks for the recco!

Try Hoka. I’ve had their Bondi work shoes for over a year now. Wide fitting, and I’m harsh as fuck on them and don’t look after them at all but they’re still good. Other work shoes have barely lasted 6 months.

Ooooh they look good. Thanks for the recco!
Apparently even Bunnings sell them - if that’s not a good sign, I don’t know what is…

Not an idiot, just conditioned that all warehouses are green and have big hammers!

I mean, lowest prices are just the beginning. Maybe shoes are the end

Redback or blundstone work boots.

Aku hiking boots. I’m literally still wearing a pair I bought i n 2009. And I wear them all the fucking time
danwritesbooks@aussie.zone 5 months ago
Gee they look nice. Might have to save up for a pair.

Mine cost $300 at a hiking store in moorabbin but i’m guessing inflation gotta inflate

Are they like a big boot, or a shoe (runners)? I have a pair of work boots I got from Kmart a few years ago that are still going well, but I don’t wear them much these days. I’m looking for more of an all purposes type shoe

Shoeboots. I wear them as allrounders.
